CO Salary Range: USD 98,900.00 - 175,300.00 per year

This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.

JOB SUMMARY
The Manager - VO Tools & Automation will serve as the leader of a software development team tasked with designing and development tools and solutions in support of the Video Operations space by solving problems and deploying solutions that bring situational awareness to the Video Operations and Engineering teams. The solutions will be based on technology and custom software that bring improved visibility and operational performance awareness to the organization. There is a strong focus on Automation and self-healing tools. In addition to people management responsibilities, you will be expected to set project/task priorities, assign work and deliverables, track and report to leadership, ensure you meet team goals, and provide mentoring and development opportunities to your staff.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the Video Operations Tools & Automation team
  • Perform annual reviews of solution/software developers
  • Coach development team members on best practices
  • Prioritize and direct work across the team
  • Maintain and support the existing tool catalog - prioritize and scope features and new products
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional performance visibility to stakeholders
  • Reduce technical debt while meeting tool development deliverables
  • Participate in code reviews & and architecture discussions
  • Influence infrastructure, deployment, and development environment decisions to best support the team
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into team processes and deliverables
  • Enhance existing software development processes and ceremonies
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in video operations verticals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Ability to assess a problem and determine a practical course of action with sustainable solutions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize effectively and quickly to meet changing demands and deadlines
  • Strong ability to work with internal/external clients, various operation support groups, vendors, carriers and utilize all network tools and resources to resolve the majority of trouble tickets assigned.
  • Ability to manage complex asks with video technologies and provide solutions to how best to measure and report on real-time performance within the video ecosystem
  • Support Video Operations Verticals in launching solutions that improve operational and situational awareness. (Dashboards, automation solutions, self-healing tools, websites, data processing, translations, user interfaces, big data analytics)
  • Hands-on leadership and development experience creating dashboards and systems that support video delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of managing an OSS, software, or solutions team
  • Knowledge of software development frameworks and languages
  • Knowledge with code repositories, development frameworks, programming languages such as Ruby, Javascript, and Python.
  • Knowledge of database development (Mongo, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum.
  • Proficiency with Agile frameworks, experience including leading Agile teams, familiarity with Agile ceremonies.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Certification
  • Experience in System automation
  • Proven ability to build & manage software teams

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Management, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience
3 plus years - Engineering management experience
5 plus years - Experience in Software Development

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office Environment
May work in Network Lab environment or 24X7 Network Operations environment
Occasional travel as required

The base pay for this position generally is between $98,900.00 and $175,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
