Job Summary
As the Manager of Buyflow Services Operations, you will lead a team of Incident Response Engineers responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of both our cloud-based and on-premise applications and services. You will be responsible for maintaining resilient platforms to support critical revenue generating systems. Additionally, you will develop and implement best practices (with a strong emphasis on security and cloud-based technologies) and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the organization.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
The Data Platforms Manager on THIS team supports the underlying data platform and services that enable reporting, analytics, and superior customer self-service experiences. Contributes to engineering and operational excellence by providing a highly available API platform at web scale. Works across the organization to establish development standards and execute data solutions that align with Charter's broader corporate strategy and ultimately drive a superior customer experience. Directly supervises the teams responsible for creating an information advantage for the organization with a focus on scalability, time to market, delivery, operations, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of technical engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with development, product, and platform teams to align team practices with business goals.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish and monitor metrics to ensure systems meet reliability and performance targets.
- Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual efforts and enhance system resilience and scalability.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a key stakeholder in technical discussions, advocating for dev/ops principles and best practices.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring organizational alignment.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years of Telecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of Software engineering team management
- 2+ years of Distributed computing software development
- Experience developing distributed software operating in JVM and on Linux
- Experience leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome
- Education:
- BA or BS College Degree or related work experience
- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated understanding of reactive platforms like Akka, Node.JS, Play, etc.
- Exposure to GraphQL based APIs
- Demonstrated understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWS
- Demonstrated understanding of modern microservices architectures employed at web scale
- Skills:
- Demonstrated effective communications skills including presentation skills
- Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles and practices
- Effective communication skills: Listening, verbal and written
- Abilities:
- Ability to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues, both logical and interpersonal
- Travel Ability:
- Office environment. Some travel required
- Schedule:
- This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days)

Preferred Qualifications
- Some knowledge of telecommunication/cable services or industry experience
- 2+ years of Management or leadership experience
