Manager, Marketing SEO

The SEO Manager is responsible for developing and executing on-page and off-page SEO strategies, including GEO and Local SEO. This role involves implementing comprehensive SEO optimization efforts across multiple Charter domains and platforms, analyzing performance metrics, and providing actionable insights. The SEO Marketing Manager coordinates with content teams, oversees SEO projects, and integrates competitive insights into strategy. They ensure alignment with paid search and other marketing efforts, manage day-to-day SEO operations, and support the SEO Lead in refining and executing SEO strategies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of on/off page SEO strategies including Local SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Develop and execute SEO content strategies including knowledge graph and structured data to enhance search visibility and accuracy of Spectrum products and services.
  • Coordinate with content teams to ensure alignment of SEO strategies with content creation and distribution.
  • Analyze SEO performance data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to the SEO Lead and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage day-to-day SEO operations, including SEO site performance, keyword research, on-page optimization, and link-building efforts.
  • Integrate competitive landscape insights into SEO strategies to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Collaborate with creative, paid search/media teams to ensure cohesive messaging and strategy.
  • Oversee the execution of SEO campaigns and initiatives, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Develop and present reports on SEO performance, including metrics related to structured data and competitive landscape.
  • Advocate for best practices in SEO, structured data, branded and competitive analysis across the organization.
  • Support the SEO Lead in developing and refining SEO strategies and roadmaps.
  • Ensure that SEO efforts comply with search engine guidelines and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to the SEO Specialist in executing SEO tasks and projects.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies related to SEO and structured data.
  • Facilitate communication between SEO and other departments to align strategies and goals.
  • Review and analyze the impact of structured data and competitive insights on SEO performance.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and tools for SEO and competitive analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in front- and back-end search engine optimization with ownership over site performance.
  • Should be collaborative, curious, creative, analytical, organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work proactively, think creatively and foster dialogue across diverse groups including internal stakeholders, developers, quality assurance/test teams and vendors.
  • Willingness to experiment with new techniques, analyze what works and what doesn't and apply learnings to new tactics or programs.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive efforts to meet website traffic goals and key performance indicator (KPI) targets. Proven ability to deliver results effectively, set expectations and identify risks to delivery.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in visual communication and presentation of information. The capability to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to the changing landscape of the web environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and effectively manage strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, understand and drive the resolution of complex critical issues. Skill with problem solving both operationally oriented issues and larger organizational or infrastructure-related issues.
  • Proven organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and solid attention to detail.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to explore options for improving effectiveness and quality of SEO/GEO tactics.
  • Knowledge of and experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with website analytics applications (Adobe Analytics preferred) and SEO tools such as Semrush, ScreamingFrog, Google Search Console.
  • An understanding of digital marketing, brand messaging, information architecture, customer experience best practices and design principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, computer information systems, analytics, or similar field preferred

  • Technical SEO practices - 3+
  • SEO content development - 3+
  • Relevant work experience - 5-10
