Lead Data Developer

CO Salary Range: USD 98,900.00 - 175,300.00 per year

Responsible for leading data engineering functions including, but not limited to: data extract, transformation, loading, integration in support of enterprise data infrastructures, data warehouse, operational data stores and master data management. Involved in leading innovative solutions. Subject matter expert for multiple programs/systems.

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Lead the implementation of data services and data movement infrastructures.
  • Communicate design of data structures/models and data movement infrastructures to junior developers.
  • Lead the implementation of programming concepts such as data structures, error handling, data manipulation and I/O processing.
  • Provide preventative solutions and communicate data job failures, including but not limited to error handing, data manipulation and I/O processing.
  • Lead the implementation of database concepts and practices including definition and query language.
  • Develop, modify, enhance, and implement requirements and architecture specifications of data warehousing systems and/or processing infrastructure
  • Lead the Insights team to design, implement, and support end-to-end data solutions across multiple platforms, environments, domains, and locations.
  • Lead development of ETL processes, programs and solutions as per established standards.
  • Monitor and administer automated and manual data integration and ETL jobs to verify execution and measure performance.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers, vendors, consultants, and external partners to quickly identify and resolve data integration and ETL job issues.
  • Diagnose complex issues and evaluates, recommends, and executes the best resolution.
  • Contribute ideas to improve the overall data insights program.
  • Organize and assign work to the data development team.
  • Implement proof of concepts to test new technologies or solutions.

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Advanced knowledge of data access methods from relational databases using SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of and hands on with web services (WSDL Soap, Restful) to access data from various source systems
  • Advanced knowledge of FTP/sFTP
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective analytical and troubleshooting abilities

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • 6 + years experience ETL
  • 5 + years experience with SQL, Shell Script, Python, JSON
  • 3 years experience data integration
  • 3 years experience data visualization (Tableau, Alterx, Microstrategy)
  • 3 years experience in Software engineering
  • In-depth experience with building use cases and providing development support to data scientists and data engineers
  • In-depth experience with data lake - all data sources - building out data sets for uses cases
  • In-depth experience with building SQL/HIVE databases and tables
  • In-depth experience with querying and designing efficient warehousing structures

The base pay for this position generally is between $98,900.00 and $175,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
