Leads a team that defines business requirements, and partners cross-functionally with product and integration teams to develop innovative customer experience enhancements for Spectrum TV customers. This role champions the video roadmap, driving cross functional collaboration with Software Engineering, Advanced Engineering, Video Operations, and third party vendors to achieve business outcomes. Must be passionate about changing how Charter's customers consume our services, while caring deeply about improving the relationship that Charter has with its customers.

WHAT OUR DIRECTOR, VIDEO PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT ENJOY MOST

  • Actively and consistently oversees all efforts to innovate while simplifying the customer experience across video platforms.
  • Align and influence priorities to deliver against impact-based objectives.
  • Maintains broad awareness of business and customer value for all initiatives.
  • Oversee and is responsible for all aspects of front end software development for one or more video applications.
  • Lead a cross functional team through the development, implementation and launch of new products and features, increasing engagement, revenue and market penetration for the video product.
  • Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning and iterating frequently.
  • Embrace hands-on leadership working within the Roku (Brightscript) programming language
  • Possess firm understanding of Web 2.0 technologies, protocols, data models and user interface programming, ensuring alignment between the business operational strategies and technical solutions.
  • Develop an effective front end development and technical leadership team via a high performance culture.
  • Bring process and procedure to an enterprise application development environment.
  • Liaise and facilitate collaboration between organizations as well as third party vendors to properly define and implement new features within the Video Applications.
  • Proactively identifies key customer experience metrics for the video platform and drives health performance and usage metrics to meet them.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Product development and management experience in telecommunications, software or web services or other related industries - 8+ years
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science; master's degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required
  • Technical Skills:
    • Possess a deep technical knowledge of client-side and API development
    • Has worked or led development activities on the Roku Platform
    • Strong verbal and written presentation skills including use of Outlook, Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint Experience with HTTP adaptive streaming technologies, such as HLS, DASH, and Smooth Streaming Expert knowledge of industry standard development tools and processes (JIRA, git, stash, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • Adaptability to manage through project priority and organizational changes
    • Experience retaining, managing, and growing talented team to deliver high quality digital products in very aggressive timeframes
    • Knowledge of architecture, design and performance optimization of traditional and IP video streaming technologies
    • Experience managing internal and external vendors and customers to meet deadlines and initiatives
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Ability to manage multiple projects across a broad application portfolio simultaneously
    • Adaptability to manage through project priority and organizational changes
    • Ability to problem solve without escalation or with thoughtful recommendation when escalated
    • Ability to motivate, and manage cross-functional teams, influencing peers and leaders
    • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and quickly to meet changing demands
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and electronically with multiple levels of management
  • Travel Ability:
    • Limited travel

    • Full time
    • This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days)

The base pay for this position generally is between $124,000.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
