What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum Intern, you'll be essential to two teams - your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28th, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include

  • This position is a part of the ERP/Financial systems strategy team, which is responsible for ensuring that Charter finance system strategies are aligned with the overall Charter business stakeholder strategy. The focus of this position will be to support strategic efforts, by ensuring common understanding and coordination across the strategy team, and where necessary, the broader financial systems team. Facilitation and configuration of business solutions is key to this role. This role is responsible for business case development/ROI tracking, technical product selection, solution design, configuration, and implementation of program governance and approach.
    • Gather, refine and validate complex business requirements, interdependencies, potential risks and issues
    • Ownership of configuration/design within SAP ERP Applications
    • Create and update functional specification, as needed
    • Support the testing related to all functional areas of SAP
    • Analyze complex business partners' operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes, functions, and systems
    • Assess available technologies to create development specifications
    • Provide in-depth technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
    • Consult with management and users to determine the needs of the system
    • Design a system to meet the business goals
    • Specify inputs and formatting outputs to meet users' needs
    • Oversee implementation, coordinating tests and observing initiation of the system to validate performance
    • Look for opportunities to improve internal processes, and implement measures to control risks within the business applications framework
    • Perform both programming and analysis tasks on business systems
    • May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues
    • Facilitate communication and gains commitment between business units to align solutions with business strategies
    • Conduct feasibility studies to assess cost/benefit, efficiency and technical viability of solutions to business problems
    • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) from initial requirements to final implementation

Required qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
