Become an Ethics Investigator, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be responsible for independently conducting a broad spectrum of concurrent investigations including employee misconduct, fraud, regulatory compliance, root cause analysis, harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest, work environment concerns, and retaliation. In this role, you will review and prioritize cases based on the significance of the underlying facts; lead strategy for case planning and effectively resource plan; address risk factors in conducting investigations; identify trends and potential remedial measures; provide status updates regarding the progress of the investigation to the Reporting Party, Subject(s), senior management and executive leadership; and when appropriate, coordinate investigations with Human Resources, Audits, Corporate Security and the Law Department. The Ethics Investigator, Advisor plays a key role in ensuring that our employees exhibit the Company values and follow our policies!

Responsibilities

  • Conducts privileged investigations on concurrent cases such as employee misconduct, frauid, and/or conflicts of interest while collaborating with various stakeholders as needed such as Legal, Human Resources, Corporate Security, Disability Management, and Worker's Compensation. Exercises independent judgment on triaging and/or escalating cases to leadership, legal, or other appropriate parties
  • Draft fair, objective, factual, and comprehensive reports that contain the factual support for any conclusions reached, witch may be read by organizational unit Directors and above, Law Department and Human Resources Leadership.
  • Provide a comprehensive briefing of the investigation steps and findings to Human Resources and Law (when applicable) so that they can determine the appropriate corrective action recommendation.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, provide accurate and timely briefings to senior management and executive leadership regarding the results of the various investigations and any proposed corrective actions.
  • Analyze information developed from multiple investigations to identify trends and patterns, collaborating with Compliance and management to identify any potential remedial measures and root causes.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating and resolving claims for or against a company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Law license; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP); Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Certificate.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in Audit Services, Federal or state law enforcement, Claims investigations, Human Resources Employee Representative or Labor Representative, or practicing Attorney in Labor & Employment or Former Prosecutor.

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. \u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. \u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
