Become Compliance Investigator, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be responsible for leading the Company's response to internal compliance investigations of potential noncompliance events related to CPUC, FERC, NERC, and other regulatory agency requirements. You will lead cross-functional teams to assess potential noncompliance events by conducting compliance analyses and cause evaluations; develop mitigation plans to address the incident and prevent future noncompliance; submit regulatory reports to WECC and serve as primary point of contact for data requests; and provide status updates regarding investigation progress to Compliance Leads and management. In addition, you will support the implementation of the new Risk-Based Compliance Model and investigate Potential Significant Noncompliance (PSNC) events and privileged investigations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and executes district compliance audits or assessments
  • Engages with industry and trade groups to exchange information and assess compliance programs against best practices and varying interpretations
  • Develops communications and participates in meetings related to changes in standards
  • Provides guidance on projects and programs on activities relevant to regulatory compliance assessments
  • Maintains and gains knowledge of regulatory agency developments and changes to offer business impact interpretations and guidance
  • Ensures corporate regulatory manuals are current and reviewed periodically
  • Proactively assesses compliance risks, reviews strategies, and business communications to ensure alignment with external regulatory rules and regulations
  • Ensures adoption and compliance with good corporate governance practices
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience with regulatory guidelines, compliance standards, or risk assessment of noncompliance issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex projects, audits, regulatory filings, and/or investigations impacting various stakeholders such as: T&D, IT, Customer and Operational Services, Generation, HR, E&C, and Law.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills and ability to analyze complex regulatory and business problems and create innovative solutions
  • Experience with local/state/federal regulatory agencies including policy, advocacy and/or compliance activities
  • Experience in developing databases, creating metrics, and performing analysis on complex data sets
  • Experience managing project schedules that reflect the coordination and integration of multiple initiatives, and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner to achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and assimilate complex and technical information in unfamiliar situations and be able to effectively communicate in a non-technical manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influence and organizational savvy skills

Additional Information

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.\u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.\u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
