Babington House...
Situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, Babington House is surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it’s the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington’s historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There’s also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa.
The Role...
Wedding Events Managers are responsible for the proactive drive of sales, curation, organization and management of events on site. The Wedding Events Manager for Babington House will be responsible for overseeing event sales, event planning, coordination, administration and overseeing the sites events.
Specifically, the role will require operational direction on:
- A strong focus on delivering high quality, highly organized, cost effective & profitable events on site
- Implementing, overseeing and understanding the commercial viability of your business
- Effective hands-on management with General Manager to support financial targets and member/guest experience
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Through the existing events network, your own contacts, and proactive outreach, sell, plan and execute the production of wedding events for the house (including private hire support)
- Build, create and maintain a robust database of influential companies, entrepreneurs, name talent and appropriate private clients to the right events for the house
- Work towards an increase the year-on-year wedding revenue income
- Maintain standards of practice of booking systems, invoice systems, and weekly reporting, weekly team meeting/call, weekly Health and Safety overview/call
- Maintain a strong organizational presence across these events
- Attend PWK events to ensure smooth running, working with the operational teams
- Ensure all events are organized and planned in time for deadlines and communicated appropriately
- Working closely with the site operational teams to ensure that spaces are booked and functions sheets are produced ahead of all events
- Submit weekly financial reports
- From time to time, work weekends and public holidays. when creating and organizing larger scale events and special occasions
- Have comprehensive knowledge of current and future trends, ensuring events remain appealing and competitive.
- Work towards monthly budgets for all events, outlining all expenditures were incurred, including detailed budgets for large scale events
Requirements - Wedding Events Manager
- 3-5 years’ experience within a similar role ideally including wedding event experience
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Great team player
- Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team.
- Computer literacy within Opera, Micros, Tripleseat and Adaco advantageous
- Strong proficiency in organization, problem solving and communication.
- Ability to work under pressure and towards deadlines and financial targets.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be over the age of 18
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand
- Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
Travel: Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
