With more than 25 years of design heritage, our ranges are created to mirror the look and feel of our Soho Houses around the world.  Soho Home is an interiors collection from Soho House that includes furniture, lighting, tableware, and accessories created for, and inspired by the Houses.

 

The Role…

With the guidance and support of the Senior Designer, you will be responsible for delivering market leading designs in the Furniture, Upholstery and Lighting categories, bringing innovative and aspirational product design to the retail marketplace. You will contribute to and support a high performance team culture while growing Soho Home’s presence in the homeware and interiors market. Your role involves driving high levels of design ideation and effective execution of the product and development strategy. You will contribute to the creative identity of your categories, whilst meeting key development deadlines throughout the product critical path timeline. Within the wider business, as Designer, you are expected to establish and nurture stakeholder relationships, ensuring the department is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value and deliver a compelling, aspirational product assortment.

Main Duties…

  • Working alongside the Senior Designer and CCO, own and be responsible for the concept and design for the seasonal product collections. Striving to push Interiors by Soho House to the forefront of both homeware and interior design
  • Beside the Senior Designer, co-own and manage the product design and development calendars for retail, collaborations and internal hospitality projects, ensuring key calendar milestone are always met
  • Identify new supplier opportunities, working with New Product Development peers to target those aligned with Soho House’s aesthetic, quality and price parameters
  • Collaborate closely with the Soho Home NPD & Quality teams to ensure briefs intents are executed to the highest standard, whilst meeting commercial expectations of price and margin
  • Drive the development and execution of the ranging strategy, working alongside NPD to deliver both long term and short term gains, with both UK and US markets in mind
  • Work closely with interdepartmental peers to deliver successful seasonal presentations and reviews to leadership and wider teams
  • Demonstrate exceptional awareness of competitors and external industry trends
  • Support and contribute towards being part of a high functioning team
  • Promote a high-performance culture, ensuring every team member is supported and empowered to successfully contribute to the overall business objectives
  • Lead and champion the sustainability focus within the product development life cycle

 

What We Are Looking For...

  • Creative individual with a high level of design ideation
  • 4+ years product design and development experience
  • High level SolidWorks knowledge essential
  • Keyshot & Adobe Creative suite knowledge advantageous
  • A vast knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including the extraordinary and unconventional.
  • Retail product design experience preferred
  • Experience in design and development of furniture, upholstery and lighting. We will also consider applicants with a high level specialist knowledge of one product area.
  • Passionate about design and product development, ensuring the member and customer is at the heart of all key decision making
  • Experienced in working directly with global suppliers to ensure best possible execution, understanding cultural nuances to ensure seamless development
  • Highly organised individual, confident in working across multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and delivery dates; ensuring clear communication with key stakeholders throughout.
  • A creative problem-solver, naturally curious with the confidence to challenge current practices to instigate positive change
  • An excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Naturally collaborative with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Enjoys working in a changing environment, able to demonstrate agility when responding to industry trends and evolving demands as Soho Home expands into new markets
