Sodexo is seeking an engaged and innovative Human Resource Manager 3 for The University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) located in Birmingham, Al. UAB is an urban college campus that cares about its students, faculty, and community. UAB is an internationally renowned and the first Health Promoting University in the United States. UAB has an enrollment of over 20,000 students gaining education and personal development. Our campus dining program includes multiple retail outlets, high-end catering, and residential dining. UAB has an ambitious client with incredible vision, engagement, innovation, and creativity. Reporting to the General Manager, Our Human Resources Manager will be responsible for implementing, and coordinating HR programs, policies and procedures for all Frontline staff. KRONOS on a campus setting is strongly preferred. They will participate in and lead HR initiatives and special projects.

Our leader will manage HR functions such as Employee Relations, talent acquisition and development, and legal & regulatory compliance, manage multiple projects while performing the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the position, excellent communication skills; both verbal and written are essential, a proven ability to manage complex HR organizations and multiple locations as well as excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Strong computer skills including KRONOS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Personnel file maintenance, EEO/AA Planning, and OFCCP experience
  • Benefits administration and Employee Training and engagement experience
  • Recruitment Experience in a high volume seasonal environment or equivalent
  • Management and processing experience for HRIS and payroll systems, preferably ADP
  • Human Resources multi-unit management experience, providing generalist responsibilities for a diverse team of front-line and management level employees
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and labor laws, to include compliance and regulatory items
  • Employee Relations and Labor relations experience in an HR capacity

  • Human Resources experience working in a similar sized and type of industry.
  • Ability to lead HR practices and objectives.
  • Ability to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity standards, goal attainment.
  • Ability to support and promote ongoing development of a superior workforce.
  • Strong attention to details as well as ability to be successful in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Computer literate in all MS Office products.
  • Skilled in the area of employee relations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
