HR Training / Recruiting Coordinator at the Indiana Convention Center @ $18 - $21 / Full Time

Principal Function: The HR Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the training needs of the unit are met in order to create a consistently high level of guest service and employee engagement. The individual will report to the HR Manager while in working closely with the onsite management team to create, facilitate and deliver a wide range of training programs.

This HR Coordinator will support recruiting efforts for hourly venue staffing to include reviewing of resumes, scheduling interviews and assisting with new hire orientations. The HR Coordinator will work as a business partner to operations managers to develop and execute training and staffing priorities for each department.

The HR Coordinator - Training will support the unit's HR function by performing other duties within the department, as assigned by the HR Manager, and they will maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality, as they are exposed to sensitive Company and employee information. The HR Coordinator - Training will act with some independence to ensure fairness and objectivity for all employees while exemplifying and supporting Sodexo Live!'s vision, mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Direct, plan and implement unit training initiatives, including, but not limited to: internal culture/customer service, supervisory and leadership development, regulatory and compliance, safety and sanitation, functional/technical, new-hire orientation, job skills and performance standards.
  • Analyze unit training needs; Develop goals and strategies based on input and direction from and collaboration with HR Manager, GM, Regional HR Director and personal experience and observation.
  • Support, leverage and expand the effectiveness and capabilities of unit-level workforce through focus on positive employee experiences, fostering teamwork, building strong team relationships and sharing information to build team awareness.
  • Manage recruitment initiatives and job postings to attract talent, onboarding and orientation; coordinate training for front line employees.
  • Contribute to Sodexo Live! being #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example.
  • Organize and implement mandatory training programs for all workers; Develop and communicate training schedule, coordinate programs and conduct required classes such as Sodexo Live! Front Line Training, TEAM/TIPS, Servsafe etc.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in a similar role, preferably within a food service environment.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field of study and/or appropriate
  • combination of education and experience to ensure on-the-job success.
  • HRCI-PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or willingness to work toward certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional facilitation in a classroom setting.
  • Some knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design techniques and needs assessment
  • and evaluation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to
  • accomplish tasks.
  • Previous work experience in a fast-paced, complex food and beverage service environment.
