Sodexo is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our Energy & Resources Sales Team! In this role, you will be a key contributor to Sodexo's growth ambition by building strong relationships and client value propositions that meet their needs and outcomes. Reporting to the VP of New Client Sales, this role will focus specifically on new Single and Multi-Service business opportunities.The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in Business Development along with Facilities Management and Workplace Experience knowledge to create solutions for Fortune 1000 companies.

This is a Remote Role with approximately 75% travel.
Candidates can reside in any state near a major airport, although residence in Texas or Louisiana is preferred.
Position is Salaried + Commission
The Business Development Executive matches Sodexo's technical capabilities to clients who appreciate our value proposition. Along the way, you will coordinate a team of solutions, operations, legal, commercial and other SMEs in the development, pricing, and articulation of compelling value propositions to meet client requirements. You will own a quota that, when met, will have significant business impact with profitable return. The environment is complex, fast paced and requires the ability to influence senior leaders and potential clients alike.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a "hunter" mentality to meet clients at every stage of their buyer's journey.
- Have a pulse on today's market and best practices in FM (Facilities Maintenance) and Food for the industrial and energy sectors.
- Understand where decisions are made within our target client base, and connect with those clients to drive opportunities.
- Be active in one or more industry associations that yields relationships in the market driving your and Sodexo's credibility.
- Be able to create compelling value propositions that align with client business objectives.
- Engage with our operations teams and expert platforms to understand Sodexo's key differentiators, and how we deliver exceptional services to our clients.
- Manage sales processes from lead generation to successful contracting.
- Have exceptional listening skills, and will seek to understand all views when solving challenges.
- Be willing to embrace continuous improvement and embrace challenges with the desired outcome of improved win rates and profitability.
- Create velocity in the sales cycle for single service line sales with an eye toward exceptional execution that translates into growth.
- Manage multiple sales processes, in various stages, at the same time.
- Embrace an organization that has roles which are interdependent upon one another, understanding how their actions impact others, and vice versa.
- Understand the unique selling landscape associated with IFM (Integrated Facilities Management), with keen eye toward monitoring information as it is shared by the client to firm up the offer as it is mobilized.
- Work closely with transition and operational leaders to provide contextual guidance for the successful mobilization of all new business using systems and processes, following closely the details of the contract, the scope of work, risk/reward KPI's, client satisfaction, and the financial drivers.
- Maintain and leverage Salesforce CRM data to improve hit rates and margin delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of Business Development experience, preferably selling within Manufacturing, Industrial or Energy sectors.
- Ability to drive deals to closure quickly and effectively.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and its impact on services.
- Commercial acumen that drives competitive commercial models and provides margin growth opportunities.
- Proven ability to nurture relationships with current and prospective clients and ability to identify and solve for clients' needs.
- Experience managing multiple projects in different points in the project lifecycle, simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, motivational and collaborative skills with high ability to influence without authority across a team of diverse stakeholders (including business leadership, Technical Solution Developers, Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations) who are not direct reports and are rarely co-located.
- Ability to accurately translate technical knowledge and requirements into clear and concise communications for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze and interpret contractual, financial, technical, operational data and commercial terms. Ability to identify how Sodexo's technical solutions can address the key needs of a client / prospective client.
- Understanding of go-to-market strategy, position in the marketplace, and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors' services and products, and the ability to apply this understanding to new business opportunities.
- Understanding of current and emerging technologies, and the practical / potential application of these technologies to current and future operating models.
- Strong presentation skills - the ability to be able to interact with both external and internal customers and effectively communicate thoughts and ideas.
- Valid drivers license is required.
