Our Sales Engineering organization is seeking a Director, Sales Engineering to lead a highly skilled pre-sales team focusing expansion business across Canada. In this role you will act as a second line manager, managing a team of SE managers as well as work directly with our sales team to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to navigate sales cycles, lead a team of sales engineers who provide value-based evaluation scenarios including demonstrations, labs, POCs, and pilots to close business.

Reporting to the VP, Sales Engineering you will play a hands-on role in building a team of sales engineers and owning the revenue and consumption responsibilities for the group.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL GET TO:
  • Build and lead a team of sales engineers and SE managers who serve as our core product introduction, evaluation and education experts
  • Coordinate cross functional dotted line resources to achieve your team goals
  • Partner with sales leadership to achieve regional quota and consumption targets and ensure customer success
  • Provide guidance to revenue leaders on sales strategy, product obstacles/gaps and represent the team's needs to executive staff
  • Interpret complex problems, create simple solutions and collaborate closely with prospects, channel partners and our sales team to deliver winning solutions
  • Collaborate and maintain a close working relationship with product, engineering, sales, marketing and services
  • Play an active role in sourcing and screening potential candidates and managing the entire interview process
  • Act as a player/coach working with your team on and delivering compelling presentations to customers and prospects
  • Innovate and implement strategies that will uplevel your teams skills

ON DAY ONE WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
  • 15+ years of industry experience in a sales or pre-sales capacity, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing and mentoring high-performing teams (hiring, training, and retaining top talent)
  • Location preference: Toronto/Montreal
  • Strong domain expertise in areas such as Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, and SaaS Solutions
  • Solid technical knowledge of SQL database ecosystems and their integration with cloud platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to both technical and executive stakeholders - whether on a whiteboard, through live demos, or formal presentations
  • Consultative sales approach: Ability to understand complex business challenges and map them to Snowflake's cloud data platform and solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of enterprise sales cycles and the ability to manage complex deals from initial discovery to close
  • Fluency in French is a plus, but not required
