We’re looking for a Data Science Manager on our Finance Team. You’ll own the analytics strategy for Snap’s Finance team and help build a high-performing team of Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers. Snap’s Finance team strives to improve decision quality and the decision making process across the company by ensuring accurate and timely reporting of critical metrics, by producing data-informed forecasts and by delivering analysis that drive key investment decisions.

  • What you’ll do:

    • Work closely with technical and non-technical business partners and stakeholders across the organization to create the right analytics solutions for Snap.

    • Build and develop a team of high-quality Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers. 

    • Work in partnership with the Data engineering team to ensure we have the right data schemas in place to support our analytics needs. 

    • Continuously develop and evangelize your vision for ways in which we can improve the state of our operations and better serve Snap leadership and Snapchatters as customers.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Experience leading teams to solve the reporting and analytics needs of large organizations

    • Experience owning all or part of a team roadmap 

    • Ability to prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders in disparate domains

    • Ability to effectively communicate complex projects to non-technical stakeholders
       

  • Minimum Qualifications: 

    • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field

    • Experience with at least one programming language (R, Python, Java, Scala); preference for Python

    • Experience with database tools such as BigQuery, Hadoop, Hive, and Spark

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands on experience with Google BigQuery

    • Experience using and sharing notebook solutions like Jupyter

    • Experience in version control systems such as Git

    • Data architecture and warehousing experience

    • Experience with Airflow

    • Experience in ETL / Data application development

    • 11+ years of experience in the industry and 3+ years of experience as a manager of data scientists
