The Senior Director of Solutions Engineering - Large Enterprise is an experienced leader to develop and scale the Solution Engineering organization. You will oversee the strategic direction and tactical execution of the organization's Solutions Engineering (Large Enterprise) strategic objectives.

You will report to the VP, Solutions Engineering. This is a remote eligible position and you may work remotely from anywhere where Smartsheet is registered.

 

You Will:

  • Develop and execute scalable selling strategies across multiple product offerings and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partner and collaborate cross functionally to establish GTM strategies across the global sales organization. 
  • Lead, inspire, and drive strategic initiatives for SE leaders to grow, develop, and strengthen pre-sales talent to play an integral role in executing our GTM strategy.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a diverse team of managers & directors with a focus to create people strategies that drive team motivation, retention, and career growth. 
  • Develop, measure, and continually improve automation, processes, activities, metrics, and enabling technology for all components of the Solutions Engineering Organization. 
  • Partner with sales leadership and internal stakeholders to meet and exceed regional quota targets and goals. 
  • Collaborate on developing compensation incentive plans, headcount ratios, and other pre-sale investments. 
  • Build, optimize and scale career development tracks for Solutions Engineers and SE leaders. 
  • Provide Collaborative Work Management thought leadership to customers during executive briefings and conferences. 
  • Oversee adherence to budgets, schedules and work plans.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for on-site sales opportunities providing SE perspective on the development of category leadership activities.

 

You Have:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience including but not limited to 8+ years of experience managing diverse and distributed pre-sales organizations
  • 4+ years experience managing managers 
  • Demonstrated competence in effectively building an executive presence, ability to effectively interact with senior  level executives within and outside of the company
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Proven leadership skills in the ability to recruit, mentor, coach, and develop leaders
  • Experience in strategic account  management, navigation, and escalation of complex sales cycles
  • Strong performance management and team-building skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams that support development, pre-sales, and post sales
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets
  • Passion for enterprise software technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to travel about 30%+ of the time
  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree or MBA preferred

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity and some roles may be eligible for a RSU stock grant upon accepted offer. 

US Pay Range
$202,500$266,250 USD
