SW QA Engineer - Calibre

We are looking for a SW QA Engineer to join our Calibre Product Software Development team in Cairo, Egypt.

Calibre's high-capacity and high-performance tools are key to our customers' success in building integrated circuits (ICs) for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will leverage your testing experience to enhance the quality and delivery of our products throughout the entire release cycle. Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Results Viewing Environment (RVE) / Calibre Interactive (CI) project team, focusing on the verification and testing of Siemens' interface technologies and graphical user interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and execute functional and regression tests to assess correctness, adaptability, performance, and overall quality.
  • Collaborate closely with senior software engineers, QA specialists, marketing teams, and customer support professionals to ensure timely product releases that align with customer needs.
  • Provide partners with comprehensive regression reports promptly.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to enhance technical and business skills and expand product knowledge.
  • Lead and innovate by developing procedures and tools to improve the QA process, aiding developers in design trade-offs and risk analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and interpreted languages like Tcl/Tk or Python.
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and experience in maintaining regression test suites.
  • Self-driven, dependable, and capable of working independently.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic, multi-site, fast-paced development environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with EDA verification tools such as DRC, LVS, and Parasitic Extraction.
  • Familiarity with EDA layout/schematic viewers or place and route tools.
  • Experience testing Qt-based GUIs with Squish is a plus.
  • Cloud testing experience is advantageous.
