The role is part of the ETO Procurement central organization within the ETO Power Systems Business. Accountable for leading the global transport strategy within Global ETO and Solution perimeters with key deliverables on Sustainability, Global Trade Compliance, and enhancing expertise in Transport & Logistics.

Make the synergy between Solution Logistics and Global ETO (Front Office and Back Office) and provide logistic support to the operations team at the plant level and procurement.

You'll have the opportunity to integrate innovative transformation solutions with digitization and robust governance processes.

Goals/Responsibilities:

Transport
  • Provide expert support on Transportation, Global Trade at the plant level, and Procurement team: upstream and downstream flows
  • Support all transport flows to step up operational excellence (on-time delivery & quality per customer segment at the best cost efficiency)
  • Introduce the best technologies into our logistics department thereby contributing to customer experience and supplier effectiveness (eg. Improving visibility and automated communication)
  • Determine, monitor, and analyze the transport KPIs and cost drivers to better manage performance and improve logistics productivity. Define and implement improvement actions, and recommendations, get buy-in, and implement actions to achieve productivity.
  • Network Design: optimize and simplify logistic flow costs accordingly (supplier optimization, existing regular lines, packaging, warehousing, CO2 reduction).
  • Open new regular lanes with the support of the IP team
  • Regular support on operations with Plant: RFQ support, Insurance Claims, Tax and Customs issues
  • Ensure that all activities are compliant with current legislation and health and safety standards.
  • Define the best transportation network strategy within corporate strategy & initiatives
  • Initiate transport offers evolution aligned with CLO (transportation plan, services, Go Green initiatives)
  • Support and work closely with the procurement team to review and rationalize our transport contracts with 3rd parties: from defining needs, preparing technical requirements, providing transport data, selecting the right partners, and supporting negotiating clear SLAs at competitive prices by improving service quality
  • Support and recommend developing teams at plants with key competencies to be able to bring transport to the next level of contribution in the frame of future supply chain & customer-centricity
  • Improve service level by identifying optimization of processes and procedures Reports
  • To compile shipping data for management reporting (ASR, FTA Saving, inbound transport cost) and flow formulation
  • Perform analysis of transport cost and shipping tonnage


Category management support
  • Animate S6 category Transport for Solution: mutualization with R4, strategic development of very specific suppliers answering to the project specificities.
  • Business review with forwarders on project scope. Manage and monitor the performance of freight forwarders, transporters, and customs brokerage to ensure on-time delivery of shipments for projects.
  • Work jointly with freight forwarders on global/regional transport plan deployment to minimize transition difficulties during the implementation of Customer Management
  • Continue developing and deploying Category management strategies for S6 Category


Community
  • Take part of the transport expert Community: build a bridge between the Front Office and Back Office
  • Identify, formalize, share, and promote lessons learned and best practices.
  • Act as a role model and/or coach
  • Animate the "associate program" for solution logistic and the Solution Purchasing Associate training for the logistic and training roadmap for Global ETO


Transversal projects
  • Build and secure the transport dashboard for finance to have a clear view on the transport cost for Global ETO
  • New Regulation Project Leader: export control, carbon tax, cargo insurance


Required experience:
  • Master's degree in economics, commercial or industrial sciences, engineering or logistics
  • At least 8-10 years' experience in Supply Chain Environment with team management
  • You have strong people and project management skills to initiate and lead change to improve performance.
  • Synthetic by nature but with good analytical abilities, problem-solving, and organizational skills and the ability to start projects/initiatives from scratch.
  • You are an advanced Information System user with a strong interest in logistics software and new communication technologies that ease quick and user-friendly communication.
  • Excellent communicator, you are strong at negotiating with external parties and encouraging win/win collaboration inside Schneider Electric.
  • You are creative and eager to bring & deploy at a fast pace innovation into the last mile delivery
  • You are fluent in English.
