For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,640 - $120,960 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Join our team as the Senior Technical Writer. As the Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for writing and publishing technical documents and associated content for products and solutions. The writer is responsible for articulating complex technical concepts and tasks through simple descriptions and instructions. You will also help maintain standards and advance the evolution of our content through various initiatives and communities of practice to help customer operators, engineers and developers do their jobs more efficiently.

To succeed in this role, you must be naturally curious and collaborative, and enjoy learning and clearly explaining complex products. You will build effective long-term relationships with team members and SMEs to facilitate information flow and build durable processes for current and future projects. You will deliver consistently with minimal supervision and guidance, as part of a collegial and supportive team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support design and development of user manuals, quick start guides, application notes, and online help materials for our critical power products and solutions.
  • Produce high quality, consistent, content that makes technical concepts easily understood by people who design, sell, install, and use electrical systems.
  • Enhance documentation through creation of illustrations and graphical content.
  • Ability to review and understand industry standards and technical regulations used by the professionals who design, sell, install, and operate systems.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers and stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Estimate personal timelines to support effective project scheduling.
  • Explore creative solutions, adopt emerging technologies, and implement best practices to enhance the quality and effectiveness of documentation.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements to streamline technical publications process.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • A four-year science, engineering, or technical degree, with education in writing, communications, or business management preferred.
  • Experience in technical writing and documentation development.
  • Proficient in English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering clear and concise documentation.
  • Familiar with technical writing and illustration tools (such as PTC ArborText Editor)
  • Ability to follow standards, style, and brand guides.
  • Passion for learning about complex technical concepts and translating them into user-friendly documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and other technical writers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with diverse communication styles, priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Power industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Previous work within an agile development environment is a plus.
