The Software Chapter Verification and Validation Lead role is part of the Connected Offers Division and works with several teams to deliver the absolute best quality software to our customers. Working with the Wiser and KNX software teams, the Agile Excellence Chapter, the Software Quality team, and a global Verification and Validation team, the Software V&V Lead is responsible for scheduling, planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive testing of all software products. The successful candidate will be a leading voice in the software community and will be confident to take responsibility for the successful deliver of top-quality software, proving through a range of processes and tools, that the release is ready for production.

As a Software Verification and Validation Lead, the successful candidate will need to:
- Technically lead a group of testers during the System Engineering processes to elucidate test requirements before any software is written.
- Work with the wider Verification and Validation team to plan and produce a comprehensive test plan for every software release.
- Keep a strong link between the software and systems teams throughout the development and V&V process.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of all tests across a global V&V team.
- Help define and maintain the V&V process and lifecycle documentation, collating and maintaining the test documentation and artifacts per test environment (QA, FT, PROD)
- Help lead and schedule all V&V efforts, coordinating between teams to define the desired test approach based on the contents of the release.
- Work with the various software teams to identify and resolve any issues that are raised during the V&V process.
- Highlight any design issues found through software testing and propose / discuss potential solutions.
- Monitor all deployments in the various environments and provide reports on their V&V progress, intervening where necessary, and retrospectively monitoring the whole install base, from verification and validation, field test, and production, to ensure high software quality is maintained.
- Help define the strategic usage of V&V tools to manage the release, deployment, and monitoring of software quality within the Software Chapter.
- Represent the Software Chapter V&V team and will have as a primary concern the effective planning, testing, coordinating, status tracking, and quality monitoring around each release.
- Define and document the V&V process and Test Approach.
- Schedule and co-ordinate the continuous V&V process through various software environments.
- Ensure clear, timely communication of the V&V schedule and status of each release to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate the V&V schedule and test activities for each release in different environments depending on the stage of the release.
- Identify issues that can delay each release, ensure they are escalated to the right stakeholders.
- Schedule regular V&V reviews across the global Software V&V community.
- Help lead the V&V effort for all software releases.
- Maintain documentation related to V&V procedures and processes.
- Manage the V&V process through different release stages from daily development to production environments.
- Creation of V&V reports.
- Work with the Software Quality team to identify issues and coordinate with the software teams to resolve them.
- Constantly monitor software quality and help resolve issues where necessary.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- 9+ years in Software Verification and Validation
- An exceptional understanding of the complete V&V process
- A great understanding of the different software methodologies like Agile, waterfall, etc
- Experience in Requirements based testing
- Demonstrable experience in test case development, test execution, and test report generation
- Experience in impact analysis and regression testing
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Jama, and X-Ray
- Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to pre-emptively identify issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent Project management skills with experience of presentation
- Stakeholder Leadership skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Team and time management skills
- A background in software scripting and development an advantage
