• We are seeking a strong and versatile engineer who is driven to design, develop, and support our test automation efforts
• Our electronics test team is focused on developing tools and applications used to support automated testing and qualification of transfer switch and/or Power Control System products and components
• The candidate will be a part of the Electronics Engineering team
Roles & Responsibilities
• Work through all phases of the software development lifecycle in an agile environment
• Develop new test scripts using object-oriented programming techniques (Python preferred)
• Write test cases and test scripts covering those test cases
• Establish, monitor, and maintain automated testing scripts and framework
• Conducts industry research on new technology and solutions
• Configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments
• Leads the definition and execution of test plans and test automation code

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3+ years of experience working with embedded systems
• At least 5+ years of progressive software development experience with object-oriented programming languages (e.g. C++, Pascal, Haskell, Lisp, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Experience with Robot Framework and PyTest
• Proficient in Python
• Comfortable developing and executing test plans
Skills & Abilities
• Ability to think and work independently
• Highly organized with close attention to detail
• Self-disciplined with the ability to learn and manage work with minimal supervision or direction
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; able to handle shifting priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication (procedures, requirements, and reports)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Enthusiastic and motivated by the idea of working on custom solutions with cutting edge technologies that make a difference
Preferences
• Working knowledge of CAN, USB, RS232, R485, Ethernet, SNMP, MODBUS, and/or other communication protocols
• Experience with OpenCV and conducting manual/automated tests
• Familiarity with test-driven development and managing defects
• Knowledge of source control tools (GIT, Subversion, etc.) and bug tracking tools (Jira, Jama)
• Experience developing cross-platform applications and working with communication protocols (CAN, USB, Ethernet, etc.)
• Hardware design experience and ability to maintain and expand test automation frameworks
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and embedded Linux platforms (Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone)
• Proficient in using software development tools and analyzing test processes for efficiency
