EV Connect is seeking a QA Engineer who shares our passion for electric vehicles and their for generations to come. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in testing methods ability to positively impact transportation, air quality and energy independence and best practices in an agile SDLC, including functional, smoke, regression, end2end, integration and test automation.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
- Ensure products and features developed for our EV Cloud platform and related customer products and services meet high standards and expectations for quality in form and function.
- Champion, evangelize, and incorporate best practices in the discipline of software testing and quality assurance.
- Engage in hands on development and maintenance of manual and automated test plans, scripts and scenarios, and execution of automated, functional, integration, regression, performance/load/stress and end-To-end testing
- Work with colleagues, developers, product managers, customer support and operations to develop in-depth product knowledge
- Work with a variety of EV charging station brands, models and firmware versions to ensure compatibility in integration and certification with our cloud-based services.
- Work with 3rd party station operator networks to ensure the integrity and compatibility of roaming integrations.
- Participate with Product and Engineering teams on product launches, and deployment/ releases management activities.
- Meet quality assurance metrics and performance benchmarks.
- Support Scrum delivery teams with estimation, planning, and strategy for incorporating testing.
- Validate/replicate and triage reported production defects.

Focus and Scope of Responsibilities
- Deep knowledge of industry best practices in testing, tools and automation
- Primarily focused on manual testing and quality assurance processes.
- Works to identify and report defects by executing test cases based on functional requirements.
- Focuses on ensuring that the product meets the functional and non-functional requirements.
- Involved in creating test plans, test cases, and performing manual exploratory testing.
- Involved in test planning, creating test cases, and executing them as part of the quality assurance phase.
- Working with Cloud/SaaS environments like AWS
- Works with developers but usually focuses more on verifying completed code after it's written.
- Log bugs and collaborate with developers to address them but are less involved in the code itself.
Technical Skills
- Requires a strong understanding of testing methodologies, test case design, defect reporting, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience at least in one test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
- May have basic programming knowledge but doesn't typically write code or build test frameworks from scratch.
- Focuses more on user experience, exploratory testing, and understanding functional aspects of the software.
- Ensures that the product behaves as expected from the user's perspective.
- Testing the system by treating it as a black box (i.e., without deep knowledge of the internal code).
Would be a plus:
- Any industry experience with station integration or open protocols like OCPP, OCPI, OpenAPI
- Familiarity with Kubernetes in automating application deployment, scaling, and management
