What will you do?
- Perform tasks that relate to the strategic management of suppliers towards ASCO Power's overall performance and supply chain goals. Work in coordination with the global Schneider procurement team, ASCO engineering, quality and supply chain to manage assigned suppliers and commodities.
- Develop assigned suppliers to support all of ASCO Power's service, quality and capacity requirements. Manage the performance of assigned suppliers to ensure compliance and continued improvement. Provide support to internal customers (manufacturing, materials, engineering, marketing, finance, and others) on issues related to supply chain.
- Participation in special projects and activities in support of new product development, product enhancement and supply chain effectiveness.

What qualifications will make you successful?
- Implement strategies to identify, develop and manage suppliers to meet objectives of quality, capacity, on time delivery, cost reduction, lead-time reduction and service.
- Prepare, distribute and follow-up on supplier performance reports
Work with quality, engineering, materials, logistics and finance to resolve persistent problems related to quality, delivery, acknowledgements, invoices and receiving. - Assist the local Materials department with difficult shortages and change orders upon request.
- Ensure contract requirements regarding source, price, lead time, routing, ownership and inventory are correctly implemented by supplier and buyers
- Supplier outside sales, inside sales, quality contacts, production and upper management.
- Procurement management, buyers and planners.
- Quality control, receiving and inspectors.
- Engineering, product management, sales and finance.
- Peers in other companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing/Operations Management, Engineering or Business, or equivalent business experience.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience as a buyer / planner or similar materials management role in a large manufacturing organization.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems or other manufacturing/purchasing systems and Windows-based PC programs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (blueprints) is required
- ISM (CPSM) or APICS (CPIM, CSCP) certification preferred.
- Database development / data extraction / SQL skills preferred
- Plastics production experience a plus
- Packaging improvement kaizen project experience / leadership a definite plus
- Advanced knowledge of purchasing functions with strengths in negotiations and performance improvement.
- Ability to coordinate efforts from multiple groups to achieve objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with awareness of deadlines.
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement and recommend changes.
