Procurement Specialist
Job Summary
Supports the purchase of construction equipment and operational commodities for Equinix's data centers.
Responsibilities
Procurement
- Supports more senior level staff in managing and facilitating all facets of supply management activities between Equinix and its suppliers to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
- Performs contract lifecycle management: writes, negotiates and manages commodity contracts
Project Management
- Tracks own project deliverables including contract awards, submittals, equipment deliveries etc., within established time constraints
Purchasing
- Manages the purchasing process of highly complex and visible mechanical and electrical infrastructure equipment
- Purchases include quote verification, award and administration of purchase orders, distribution of records and reports, and the closeout of procurement activities at the conclusion of the project (including back charges, claims, etc.)
- Raises and/or manages purchase orders
Vendor Management
- Creates and maintains long-term partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers to foster two-way feedback
- Actively manages and optimizes supplier performance, including continuous improvement in quality, service and delivery, integrating innovations, obsolescence, and reduction in total cost of ownership, in partnership with sales
Budgets & Negotiations
- Identifies direction for negotiations and opportunities to reduce costs
- Negotiates contracts effectively by considering cost savings and risk mitigation
Planning
- Executes accomplishing group goals, including development of procurement strategies
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience
- Bachelors
