Principal, Infrastructure Services Architect
Schneider Electric is undergoing a global infrastructure transformation programme, led by the Global Technology Services team (GTS). Working within GTS, the Core Network Solutions Architect will be a member of the GTS Infrastructure Architecture & Solution Delivery team.
The global transformation programme, driven by data centre optimization, cloud migrations, network optimizations and application modernization aims to transform and optimize Schneider Electric's business and IT capabilities with the help of digital technologies and capabilities such as Cloud, Microservices, Core Network and DevOps.
The Core Network SA's role is to help keep that transformation as standardized and evolved as possible, contributing to the overall strategy, project execution and operations in his/her areas of expertise. He or She promotes infrastructure standards, rules and technologies throughout the entire Schneider ecosystem.

The Core Network SA will work closely with the other GTS Architecture domains (Infrastructure, Governance, Cloud, Microservices, DevOps, Cybersecurity), Service Delivery, Operations and the PMO as well as business lines making sure the standards and governance around infrastructure principles are being adhered to and respected at all times.
This is a role with technical know-how and leadership qualities to eager drive core network initiatives from start to finish and presents opportunities to advise/ propose on the global core network strategy in IT strategies and programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement enterprise-class core network architectures.
• Conduct core network assessments (what is in place today), define and maintain architecture solutions as part of a global reference architecture repository.
• Oversee and guide the build, delivery and run of the required infrastructure architecture.
• Provide the work's technical conscience, defining and driving the right solution to meet the technical performance, scalability, flexibility, operations and capability needs.
• Design and ensure that technology standards and corporate policies are followed and evolve over time.
• Provide core network architecture Quality Assurance reviews and ensures compliance with architecture standards globally.
• Support the technology solutioning and estimating in proposals for change, planning and pricing.
• Conduct core network architecture assessments and defining future solutions and short term and long term roadmaps.
• Liaises with Global Information Security as required.
• Develop and maintain core network standards in partnership with Operations and Application Development.
• Provides support as required during critical (high) incidents related to core network capabilities under ownership. Leads investigations and takes corrective/preventive actions
• Leads training and technical forums, serves as both a formal and informal mentor, and executes other initiatives designed to share knowledge across the enterprise.
• There will be a need for the SA to travel domestic and/ or internationally to the supplier sites, Schneider Electric sites for workshops, trade shows, etc.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• 5 years' experience as a Core Network Architect and/or Engineer
• 1 years' experience architecting core network solutions
• Experience with routing design, techniques, and protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• Advanced knowledge of SDN solutions: SD-WAN, SD-DC, SDCI...
• Experience dealing with ISP, Telco and IP/MPLS services
• Strong working knowledge of DevOps frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of security and hardening concepts
• Advanced virtualisation technologies knowledge
• Advanced experience with DDI solutions: DHCP, DNS, NTP
• Authentication, Directory Services, LDAP and IAM: Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory, Certificate Services, Single Sign-On, AWS IAM, SAML, OAuth.
• Advanced core network management, logging and monitoring tools knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of disaster recovery services & strategies
• Cloud experience with AWS (VPN, VPC, transit gateway, private link, LB, Direct Connect, etc), Azure (Vnet, Express Route, VPN gateway, LB, etc).
• Be sharp, with good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, comfortable working within a multinational team.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated
Desirable:
• Relevant Professional certifications: LAN and WAN: CCIE (Routing and Switching) or CCNP (Routing and Switching).
• Nice to have certifications: Cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure), especially focused in Networking
• ITIL V4, Dev/SecOps
• Technical writing experience
