Material Productivity Leader - Virtual Factory

The Material Productivity Leader provides strategic direction to develop, lead, and execute all the initiatives around the direct material cost-out projects for a plant or factory. Responsible to support the operational relations with external manufacturer suppliers based on the strategy defined by the commodity management and Procurement departments including activities like the correct execution of the contracts, support RFQ processes including its creation and follow up, as well as to take part in the negotiation process regarding price definition, quantity of products, quality, and logistic level. Track and report key elements/data on supplier performance.

• Manage a project portfolio of cost reduction initiatives for the direct material in the assigned plant or virtual factory.

• End to end portfolio management includes, but not limited to:

o Opportunity (idea) portfolio creation and management

o Prioritization

o Accountability of project execution and implementation for the assigned plant portfolio. Responsibilities:

§ Consistent communication with leaders executing projects impacting the assigned plant.

§ Supply chain implementation/deployment.

§ Supplier(s) readiness.

§ Plant(s) readiness.

§ Inventory management (ramp up/ramp down).

§ Mass production.

§ Internal communication and documentation across stakeholders.

§ Project financial tracking (OPEX, CAPEX, Benefits, etc.)

• Develop, sell, lead, and execute cost reduction projects in a cross-functional environment aligned to the North America region strategy. Initiatives include change of supplier, quality & value engineering changes, supply base optimization and supply risk mitigation among others.

• Lead and build and support a solid pipeline of projects through new ideas that secure productivity year over year.

• Coach, disrupt and lead the procurement organization in the project management/agile best practices.

• Ensure the correct deployment of the general Purchasing Strategy of cost reduction initiatives in the cluster.

• Propose cost reduction projects/ ideas (QVE, COS, etc.) within his/her perimeter in consistency with the Purchasing strategy goals.

• Support the commodity management strategy for supplier consultation & selection including negotiate and manage contracts with local/specific suppliers (price, lead times, pay terms, inventory level, etc.)

• Support and / or lead all the activities related the supply qualification system in plant according with the responsibility matrix defined.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Establish relations with key stakeholders and lead executive presentations with senior leadership. Communication of results and accountable for plant productivity financials.

• Drive and ensure project timelines, deliverables, budget, quality, critical activities and other important KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are within expectations and forecast.

• Lead productivity workshops to increase pipeline of new ideas and business cases for future projects opening

• Development of solid business cases to mature productivity ideas and convert them into projects.

• Perform risk management to identify and minimize issues in program/project execution, leading discussions and tracking of action plans with proper individuals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business

• Bilingual in English/Spanish - business proficient (written and oral)

• +5 years proven experience working in Project Management and development of Material cost reduction opportunities pipeline

• Previous experience working in Contract Manufacturing (Virtual Factory) Environment

• Previous experience in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain areas.

• Proactive, dynamic, self-driven, results oriented, passioned to achieve results via Influence and great communications skills

• Seeks solutions beyond his/her own frame of reference

• Availability to travel Internationally (Valid Passport and USA Visa)

• PMP training or knowledge

Tech Skills:

• Supplier Chain knowledge (Supplier Management, Negotiation , Market analysis, Inventory Management etc.)

• Experience working in electric or electronics manufacturing industry.

• Strong Project Management knowledge

• Financial acumen.

• Internal Cost and Budget Management knowledge

• Oral and written communication.

• Proficiency in Excel and Power Point

• Database Management skills is a plus

• Experience in SAP is a plus.
