What will you do?
Job Responsibilities
- Transformative Leadership: The Quality Engineering role aims to transform the Victoria plant into a highly customer-oriented organization, delivering premium quality and service to exceed customer expectations.
- Quality Program Management: Lead relevant quality programs and methods such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, Quality Fundamentals, Digital Quality, and customer interaction to ensure continuous improvement.
- Issue Management: Directly manage critical issues escalated by customers, or line of business. Utilize problem-solving tools such as 8D, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to understand root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Lead implementation of Quality Fundamentals, PFMEA, process control plans, and poka-yoke & Jidoka opportunities.
- Quality Manufacturing: Lead continuous process improvement opportunities impacting customer returns, scrap, and first-time throughput .
- Customer Interface: Inte rface with external customers to better understand their expectations and concerns regarding product concerns, responsible for investigations, customer follow-up, customer visits and ultimate customer satisfaction.
- Product and Supplier Support: Support new product introductions and supplier development activities relating to Victoria.
- Network: Benchmark with other Schneider entities to align and deploy projects utilizing digital technology.
- Quality Management System: Take the lead in Quality and Certification audits, like ISO9001, MID, IEC and other certifications.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

- Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics etc) or equivalent.
- Excellent skills in leadership, communication both verbal and written, and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of lean tools like VSM, 5S, Spaghetti Diagram, process flow diagrams, Kaizen.
- Experience in resolving issues using 8D, CAR and/or Six Sigma methodology.
- Lean Manufacturing fundamentals certification or any equivalent certification.
- Knowledge/experience with FMEA and Process Control Plans - and RPN reduction projects
- Project management skills (including managing cross functional stakeholders) are a bonus.
- Previous experience working with people from the manufacturing floor including but not limited to operators, line leads, technicians, supervisors and managers.
- Strong understanding of ISO Management Systems.
- Experience in interacting with customers.
What's in it for me?
The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is CAD 72,700 - CAD 80,000 for candidates who are B.C. residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
