Injection Moulding Machine Setter

Mission :

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Injection Moulding Setter to make a difference by being involved in the daily process of tool changeovers and processing within a future focused global manufacturing company.

Key responsibilities:

Working closely with the Injection Moulding Manager and a team of established, experienced tool setters and operators, you will be involved in the daily tool and product changes as well as processing adjustments and trouble shooting. You will be involved with planning of the change overs on your shift and liaise with the departmental Quality Technician to ensure all required criteria are met. The role also entails the logging of processing parameter changes, the completion of first off and last off checks as well as basic in press tool maintenance as and when required.

The main reason for this role is to strengthen the existing team with skills in processing and fault finding. The Injection Moulding Department operates a 2 shift pattern and you will be expected to collaborate with other setters to ensure that shift and departmental targets are met.

Sound understanding of:
  • The Injection Moulding process.
  • Materials and preparation.
  • Health and Safety practices.
  • Technical Drawings
  • Ergonomics / Health and safety, and an awareness of overall behavioral standards and compliance in the workplace.
  • Ancillary equipment.
  • Mould Tool operation.

Skills and attributes:
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Capable of working well under pressure
  • Good team working and pro-active approach to task completion
  • Relevant technical knowledge and analytical skills
  • Good measuring skills.
  • Decision making.

Education / Experience
  • Good basic standard of written and spoken English
  • Machinery/Engineering based qualification or time served experience
  • Proven experience in an injection moulding production facility as a machine setter
