For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $164,000 - $246,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are seeking an outstanding engineering leader to head the solar/storage power conversion and control engineering teams in the US and Canada. You will lead a top-tier team of power electronics engineers and steer product development in a dynamic environment. You will oversee the entire product development process, from concept/ideation to manufacturing. This role is based out of the Bay Area, California

What will you do?
  • Lead the Solar/Storage power conversion and electrical engineering teams at our Vancouver, BC R&D Center
  • Oversee the complete power conversion product development process from concept to industrialization
  • Cultivate an environment of innovation and close collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders, including mechanical engineering, PCB designers, compliance, and supply chain.
  • Establish and facilitate thorough and timely design reviews of schematics and PCB layouts
  • Drive cutting-edge magnetics design, EMI/EMC strategies, and thermal management studies
  • Drive DFMEAs, Design Margin Studies, and MTBF calculations
  • Work closely with the program management on project schedules and resource allocations
  • Pay close attention to details, and be proactive and decisive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Recruit and mentor a high-performing team
  • 6+ years of technical managerial experience with a proven track record in product development
  • 10+ years of engineering experience focusing on power electronics
  • Strong background in power conversion and controls, particularly in multi-level inverters, DAB/CLLC converters, vehicle power trains, EV chargers, etc
  • Must be adept in both HW and FW development
  • Proficiency in Modeling and PCB design tools such as PLECS, Cadence, Ansys Q3D, Maxwell, etc.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in power electronics, including SiC/GaN power devices and power converter topologies
  • Expertise in densely integrated products encompassing batteries, power electronics, PCBAs, and electrical bussing
  • Familiarity with solar/storage regulatory and compliance aspects is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to plan project strategy through schedule and resource estimation
  • Previous experience in dynamic, multi-time zone work environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
