Schneider Electric Sustainability Business has an exciting opportunity to join our Renewable Enery and Carbon Advisory division as a Manager in the Global Environmental Commodities Operations team.

The Manager position joins a team of experienced professionals in commodity procurement and advisory services supporting many of the largest organizations in the world with global procurement of Energy Attribute Certificates (RECs, GOs, REGOs, I-RECs, etc.). This Manager position will work closely with two colleagues based in Europe and UK that oversee mainly the European GOs, the UK REGOs, the EU/UK Biomethane certificate markets, also supporting to oversee procurement/advisory related to I-RECs/TIGRs/national credits issued in countries in Latam, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Supervision of two to three junior team members (Consultants based in Europe, Colombia and Singapore) in a dotted line fashion might be required.

This position engages with Sales and Client Management teams based in the USA and Europe that are part our Renewable Energy and Carbon Advisory Division. This effort with other teams who are directly in touch with our corporate clients from various sectors, may involve single location procurement events or the development of complex and ongoing go-to-market global processes, advisory services. All these efforts in support of clients' renewable energy and carbon reduction goals are aligned with industry best practices as defined by the relevant NGO guidance in conjunction with the client's internal strategic criteria. In addition, this position supports our internal administration of contracts, document management, database management, management of inventory of European EACs such as GOs and REGOs.

Your IMPACT:

  • Build Expertise: Focus on environmental commodities, especially EACs from Europe (EU GOs, UK REGOs, biomethane certificates) and monitor global market developments.
  • Commodity Procurement: Engage with renewable energy project developers/producers issuing EACs, traders, and brokers to identify solutions for Schneider clients.
  • Supplier Management: Maintain and grow relationships with EAC suppliers in Europe and the UK.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with Sales and Client Management teams on environmental commodity procurement strategies.
  • Carbon Abatement Planning: Lead corporate clients in implementing Scope 2 and 3 carbon abatement through EAC purchases and retirements.
  • Advisory Services: Deliver workshops and assessments, and provide documentation on market trends and purchase evidence.

About You:
  • Proven track record of 6-10 years of experience in the Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Commodities focusing on the dedicated markets is highly preferred:
    • Renewable Energy consulting, trading, or project management
    • EAC consulting, trading, or brokerage (e.g. GO, REGO, I-REC/TIGR, national credits such as GEC, NFC, J-credit, LGC, NZEC, EU/UK biomethane certificates etc )
    • Chain of custody tracking, certification, and registry management
    • Supplier/client engagement in EAC markets
    • Experience dealing with suppliers/sellers of EACs (energy providers, brokers, traders, asset managers) and clients
    • Knowledge of AIB Hub rules and UK OFGEM market regulations
    • Expertise in Corporate Sustainability EAC procurement strategies and best practices (RE100, CDP, SBTi, GHG Protocol)
    • Additional commodity trading experience is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively and independently within a supportive team environment
  • Other energy procurement and strategy experience in renewables (off-site PPA, Distributed Generation etc.) is advantageous
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Risk assessment, mitigation and organizational skills in commodity procurement
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a proactive and diligent attitude
  • Professionalism/Work Ethic
  • Leadership skills
