Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an innovative IT Director to lead our technology strategy and initiatives in the Efficiency team within the Sustainability Business of Schneider Electric.

This exciting role will be a trusted advisor and primary technical point of contact to business line executives and managers within Efficiency. This role will help drive productivity in Energy Efficiency by collaborating with employees to identify areas of improvement and lead the implementation of appropriate technology tools or systems.

The Technology Director is responsible for evaluating the Efficiency Team's technology needs and opportunities and working with the organization's senior leaders in developing short-term and long-term technology strategies and priorities to pursue. He or she will strive to understand business challenges, customer priorities and competitive issues to recommend efficient usage of technology and data solutions that align to the business strategy.

These technology solutions are to be applied across the entire value stream of the business, from sales and marketing to project management, engineering, construction and client services. The solutions will be applied both internally (technology we develop for our own use that is either off the shelf and configured, or custom), and technology that is customer facing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Efficiency leadership for all technology related topics, and be an integral part of the business, establishing sound relationship to functional key users and other key stakeholders
  • Drive the development and execution of strategic technological plans for the organization.
  • Provide frequent updates/formal reviews on project activities, global initiatives, and operational aspects
  • Ensure consistent project delivery on schedule, on cost, on scope, and within quality targets.
  • Operate as digital coach to drive the adoption of digital tools and foster digital mindset across the business partners
  • Support and help the business in creating an effective group of key users, with ongoing coaching and facilitation

Project Demand and Execution
  • Support Efficiency management to define their technology strategy and define priorities
  • Provide structure to prioritize requests, facilitate fast decision and implementation cycles
  • Clarifies needs expressed by key-users, transforms user requests into demands understandable by leaders in Efficiency
  • Manage and challenge project demands from business, ensure they are driving forward using existing enterprise solutions or third-party suppliers.
  • Participate in various global projects by driving and ensuring a good local implementation and adoption rate

Cost and Asset Management
  • Provide full cost view to the leadership. Initially baselining the existing technology costs to understand the current investment and identify opportunities for driving efficiency and/or cost out.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to drive cost-out, identify trends, improvements, or rationalization opportunities across the application landscape to improve business performance through speed, first time quality, improvement of client experience and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS, MBA, or other relevant degrees
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with operations and/or support in a fast-moving, highly critical, enterprise application environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across varying levels of personnel
  • Working knowledge of new and emerging technologies, systems, resources, and controls along with insight into the ways they can be effectively and efficiently utilized to improve operational performance.
