Director, Tax

Job Summary

Equinix is currently hiring for a Tax Director, EMEA, responsible for the Corporate Income Tax and Withholding Tax reporting, accounting and compliance for the region and leading the EMEA CIT team. The ideal candidate must be tax qualified, with a strong Corporate and International Tax background, highly motivated with proven technical, interpersonal and leadership skills, who is keen to pursue a career in a large international and fast paced organization.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate tax compliance - Responsible for the completion and submission of accurate tax returns and related tax payments for the region, collaborating and coordinating with outside service providers to ensure their accurate and timely submission, [including all supporting workpapers and calculations such as Tax Fixed Asset Registers, Corporate Interest Restriction and Thin Capitalization calculations]. Ensure local Tax Legislation is complied with and processes are updated as required
  • US Group and local GAAP Reporting - Responsible for the EMEA Tax Provision for quarter-end reporting and forecasting purposes, including current and deferred tax provisioning for US GAAP requirements, preparation of tax account reconciliations. Leads tax accounting for the local GAAP statutory accounts, including current and deferred taxes and any prior year adjustments
  • Withholding taxes - Responsible for the fulfillment of withholding tax compliance and reporting obligations
  • Project work - Responsible for EMEA Corporate tax projects (i.e. implementation of Pillar 2 local compliance, Tax Depreciation planning, thin capitalization analysis and planning; tax automation projects; improving reporting/compliance processes; integration of acquired entities into the existing Equinix processes;)
  • Risk management - Managing the related CIT and WHT risks of the EMEA region
  • Strategy and planning - responsible for identifying tax issues related to on-going routine business activities to improve tax efficiencies and their subsequent implementation
  • People management - Provides leadership and direction through senior managers and managers; drives accountability for the performance and results of direct reports; responsible for all hiring decisions and activities, including job definition, interviewing selection and onboarding; responsible for all employee decisions and activities including compensation, quarterly conversations, performance counselling, coaching and career development. Ensures workload is balanced
  • Develops and maintains relationships with business partners

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualified (or equivalent), with [15] years' experience in accounting and Corporate Tax reporting and compliance, in an international tax function of a multinational enterprise
  • Demonstrated technical strength and knowledge related to CIT accounting, reporting and compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organization
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks within time constraints and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills showing attention to detail and willing to show flexibility
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude are essential
  • Experience with accounting reporting systems, Microsoft Office, excellent ability with Microsoft Excel
