Industrial Automation Services Quality Lead

As the Quality Leader, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing Quality Performance and Customer Satisfaction for our Industrial Automation Services (IAS) Offer Creation team. Your focus will be on both existing and upcoming software, hardware, and services offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Drive Offer and Project Quality across multiple offers, emphasizing end-to-end quality in our hardware, software, and services product portfolio throughout development and post-commercialization phases.
  • Lead quality meetings to address customer and internal quality issues, fostering collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve project quality and vendor/customer concerns promptly.
  • Ensure timely communication of relevant information regarding offer evolution, quality challenges, and product withdrawals, engaging with countries and customers as necessary.
  • Prepare and conduct project milestone and quality gate reviews in alignment with established processes.
  • Define project quality goals that align with organizational and business line objectives, ensuring a clear path towards quality improvement.
  • Drive risk management strategies using quality methods and tools such as FMEA, FTA, and 8D.

Software Quality Assurance
  • Implement Schneider Electric's QA processes throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including audits and reviews.
  • Establish and achieve software quality objectives, collaborating with the R&D Verification & Validation team to develop a comprehensive testing strategy (unit, integration, system, acceptance).
  • Uphold Schneider Electric's coding standards and best practices to enhance code quality, while challenging development teams to meet quality goals on schedule.
  • Continuously refine and document processes based on lessons learned and stakeholder feedback.

Product Data Management and Product Evolution Process
  • Represent Quality in the Board of Change and Offer Safety committees, providing essential data for our offerings.
  • Follow the Product Management Process (PMP) and Product Evolution Process (PEP), utilizing required tools and methodologies.
  • Create and track Product Change Requests (PCR) for released products, ensuring alignment with quality standards.

Location & Travels
  • This position is located preferably in Foxboro, MA or Andover, MA. You will be expected to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.
  • No travel to be expected

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality role, preferably within R&D or Manufacturing Operations environments.
  • Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Verification & Validation (V&V).
  • Strong experience in IT and/or OT is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence distributed team members.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of Spanish and French is advantageous.

Competences:
  • Strong project quality leadership skills, with the ability to steer offerings to ensure product quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality systems and Offer Safety processes, including thorough review procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in quality process tools and methodologies such as OCP/OLM for PMP and PEP, Issue to Prevention, 8D, and FTA.
  • Skilled in performing Application, Design, and Software FMEAs.
  • Strong background in document reviews and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management, Product Change Management, and Engineering processes is a plus.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and JAMA Connect is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic organizational environment.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, capable of injecting optimism into team dynamics.
