Summary: To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of Field Devices proposals for North America with detailed bid responses.
What will you do?
- Coordinate and execute all efforts in transactional and complex Field Device proposal preparations, including the preparation of associated services and documentation deliverables estimates
- Be a key member of the Field Devices selling function, this may include presentation of proposals to customers
- Provide Sales and Proposals support to Channel Partners
- Develop and maintain up to date Field Devices proposal procedures
- Receives and evaluates bid requests and specifications
- Coordinates work with other Proposals specialists, Technical specialists, Project Managers, and all contributing teams as required
- Works closely with Channel Partners in Sales pursuits and pricing approvals
- Coordinates information gathering on pricing, legal, selling strategy, engineering, training, site services, and other proposal requirements
- Selects instrumentation and Field Devices with the assistance of the responsible technical sales representatives and specialists as required
- Determines optimum Field Device solutions/configurations according to the specifications
- Prepares specifications and RFQ's for suppliers and coordinates quotations with Supply Chain from 3 rd party suppliers
- Coordinates commercial responses and obtains all commercial documents as required
- Completes project costing information, calculates margins, and obtains pricing strategy approvals
- Prepares and obtains approvals for risk analysis, cash flows, and project schedules
- Prepares technical responses as required with involvement of others
- Gathers all documentation required by customers
- Coordinates all information gathering, packaging and delivery estimates
- Key member of the team selling to the client
- Develops and maintains proposal process tools and procedures

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Good working knowledge of the processes, operating requirements and problems encountered by the principal industries served
- Knowledge of commercial transactions involved in the business, such as proposal, purchase order, acknowledgement, invoice, payment terms, credit criteria, etc.
- Understanding of the relationship between owner, user, consulting engineer and the vendor / sub-vendor
- Action-oriented and has good business acumen
- Effective written and oral communication with good presentation skills
- Good electrical and mechanical comprehension
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to accurately take measurements off drawings
- General knowledge of commercial articles
- Bottom-line oriented and drives for results
- Show superior innovation and management skills and has the ability to work with and lead teams
- Good working knowledge of computer-based office applications
- Good organization and planning skills

- Technical diploma in instrumentation and process control, or University degree in Engineering
- 5 + years of experience in instrumentation and contract proposal preparation, and/or in direct sales
