This position is for an Export Control Senior Manager, APAC (Regulatory & Contracts) in Singapore, pivotal in ensuring that Schneider Electric's Asia Pacific region is up to date with the associated International Trade and Sanction laws and regulations. This involves daily monitoring and interpretation of the geopolitical theatre and associated regulatory changes.

The position will also be responsible in ensuring that the contracts w ith our suppliers, customers, distributors, carriers, or customs brokers are compliant with the international trade and sanctions laws and regulations by working with the zone export control governance teams and the applicable Schneider Electric stakeholders in reviewing key clauses such as Export Control, Incoterms, Contract Termination criteria, or Force Majeure. The role requires the ability to provide support to the zone governance teams and the applicable Schneider Electric stakeholders in the negotiation of these clauses with our suppliers and clients, hence the strong communication skills necessary for this role.
The role reports to the Regional Export Control Director, Asia Pacific, Global Export Control Center of Excellence (CoE).
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Interpretation of International Trade and Sanction laws and regulations:
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in the monitoring of international trade and sanction laws and regulations especially those that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region. They may include but not limited to U.S., E.U. and Asia Pacific international trade and sanction laws and regulations.
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in the interpretation (including its alignment) of international trade and sanction laws and regulations especially those that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region. They may include but not limited to U.S., E.U. and Asia Pacific international trade and sanction laws and regulations.
- Take lead and/or coordinate impact analysis with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders on new and/or changes in international trade and sanction laws and regulations especially those that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region. They may include but not limited to U.S., E.U. and Asia Pacific international trade and sanction laws and regulations.
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders on the development and enhancement of global and regional export control and sanction associated processes because of new and/or changes in international trade and sanction laws and regulations especially those that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region. They may include but not limited to U.S., E.U. and Asia Pacific international trade and sanction laws and regulations.
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in the communication processes and activities of new and/or changes in international trade and sanction laws and regulations especially those that have an impact to the Asia Pacific region. They may include but not limited to U.S., E.U. and Asia Pacific international trade and sanction laws and regulations.
- Take lead at APAC level and/or coordinate applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders at with zone level in advocacy activities associated with new or changes of applicable export control & sanction regulations in the Asia Pacific region.
- Take lead and/or support in any monitoring and interpretation of International Trade and Sanction laws and regulations associated projects, initiatives and events.
Contracts Reviews & Management
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in ensuring that the contracts with our suppliers, customers, distributors, carriers, or customs brokers are compliant with the international trade and sanctions laws and regulations by reviewing key clauses such as Export Control, Sanctions, Incoterms, Contract Termination criteria, or Force Majeure.
- Take lead and/or coordinate with applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in the development, updating, management and deployment of global and regional export control and sanction associated clauses and templates.
- Take lead, coordinate and/or support applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in export control and sanction clause negotiation with their customers, distributors, suppliers and etc.
- Take lead, coordinate and/or support applicable Schneider Electric internal and/or external stakeholders in conducting training and briefings on export control and sanction clauses and associated processes and procedures.
- Take lead, coordinate and/or support any global and regional export control and sanction contract clauses associated projects and initiatives.
Ad-hoc Assignments & Projects
- Provide advice, support and/or back-up in any ad-hoc export control & sanction associated projects, activities & discussion at both Corporate & Cross-Region/Country as assigned.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree required; law or advanced degree helpful.
- Competent export control experience required, preferable in a multinational company.
- 10-15 years of detailed and extensive knowledge and experience in International & Asia Pacific Export Control & Sanctions related regulations, including classification, licensing, reporting and export program development & management.
- 25% travel domestically and internationally when required.
- Demonstrated ability to both leading a team and being a team player.
- Proficiency with MS office applications.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
