This position is for an Export Control Senior Manager, Foundational Management APAC, based in Singapore, pivotal in ensuring that Schneider Electric's Asia Pacific region is up to date and in compliance with the associated International Trade and Sanction laws and regulations.

The position will be responsible in working with the Schneider Electric Global Export Control CoE members as well as the applicable internal and external Schneider Electric stakeholders in developing, enhancing and management of Schneider Electric Export Control and Sanction Program, Processes and Systems.

The role reports to the Regional Export Control Director, Asia Pacific, Global Export Control Center of Excellence (CoE).

What will you do?

Key Responsibilities:

Program, Process & System Developments and Enhancements
  • Take lead in enhancing the APAC export control and sanction compliance program.
  • Develop new and/or enhance existing export control and sanction compliance processes, system and documentation to ensure effective and efficiency of APAC export control and sanction program.
  • Take lead or represent APAC export control governance team in coordinating and supporting any global, cross-region or cross-functional and APAC regional export control and sanction compliance policy, processes and system introduction (new), enhancement (existing) and deployment initiatives and projects.
  • Represent APAC export control governance team as "Champion" or "Super-user in any global, cross-region and APAC regional export control and sanction compliance policy, processes and system introduction, enhancement and deployment initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and provide export control and sanctions compliance training applicable as APAC export control and sanction compliance program enhancement activities.
  • Develop and provide guidance and recommendations to the APAC region on strategic planning to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness in areas that involve export control & sanctions.
  • Represent APAC export control governance team in developing, maintaining/updating and enhancing of intranet website / webpage outlook and its content.
  • Maintain of global and APAC regional controls & sanctions related policies, procedures, guidelines, templates and documentation.
  • Attend export control and sanctions seminars/conferences to maintain knowledge on regulatory updates and changes as well as understand the current associated export control and sanction compliance program benching marks and trend of the related industry.
  • Develop and prepare periodic updates and metrics reports related to export control and sanctions.
  • Provide advice, support and/or back-up in any ad-hoc export control & sanction associated projects, activities & discussion at both Corporate & Cross-Region/Country as assigned.

Investigation & Audit Corrective Action Plan Management
  • Take lead in developing the Corrective Action Plan as well as identifying and engaging the applicable Schneider Electric stakeholders in working on the applicable corrective action items.
  • Take the lead in managing and coordinating the applicable corrective action items as well as ensure that they are all operationalized.
  • Prepare the applicable reports and provide associated presentations to applicable Schneider Electric Management and Stakeholders.

Regional Governance Process Management
  • Take the lead in APAC jurisdiction & classification trade rules governance.
  • Take the lead in APAC license & agreement management process governance.
  • Take the lead in APAC tech data transfer process governance.

Ad-hoc Assignments & Projects
  • Provide advice, support and/or back-up in any ad-hoc export control & sanction associated projects, activities & discussion at both Corporate & Cross-Region/Country as assigned.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Min Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree helpful.
  • Competent export control experience required, preferable in a multinational company.
  • 10-15 years of detailed and extensive knowledge and experience in International & Asia Pacific Export Control & Sanctions related regulations, including classification, licensing, reporting and export program development & management.
  • 25% travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to both leading a team and being a team player.
  • Proficiency with MS office applications.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
