Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Design Standards Lead, working with one of our largest & fast growing Global Strategic Accounts (GSA), in the rapidly expanding Cloud & Service Provider (CS&P) Segment.

Your mission:

As a vital member of our CS&P Centre of Engineering Excellence (COE) team, and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating and implementing our BMS/EMS Engineering Standards within designated customer projects. This includes driving continuous improvements, providing support, and ensuring updates to reinforce our overarching Engineering Standardisation Strategy.

BMS/EMS Engineering Standards comprise Documentation, Software & Graphics templates libraries & require a highly organised engineering approach to ensure they are managed & kept up to date in support of our ultimate goal to provide top quality engineering services, in a highly efficient manner.

A high degree of collaboration, proactivity & agility are key attributes for the role, to ensure we deploy BMS/EMS Engineering Standards at pace in targeted customer projects, whilst ensuring the successful adoption of consistent working practices .

The role needs to operate on a truly international basis, working with global projects & high levels of co-ordination with teams from multiple countries - excellent communication skills will be required .

Duties include:
  • Act as Technical Author for all reference documentation and templates, co-ordinating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure BMS/EMS Engineering Standards are adequately documented/updated
  • Ensure a high degree of collaboration & teamwork is established between all stakeholders to maximise adoption of BMS/EMS Engineering Standards
  • Primary point of contact for customer in the definition & development of their engineering standardisation strategy
  • Accountable for the creation of standardised designs & associated deliverables in collaboration with COE's design teams
  • Lead team of subject matter experts relating to the EBO, AVEVA System Platform & PLC Automation, to ensure development & support of standard templates & configurations, including maintenance of relevant libraries
  • Establish & animate of community of practice to ensure awareness & adoption of Engineering Standards is maintained to a high level with all internal engineering roles within both Centre of Engineering Excellence & country project execution teams
  • Support Schneider Electric & Systems Integrator project execution teams in implementation of Engineering Standards on identified projects
  • Implement & monitor the required governance on all identified GSA projects to ensure compliance to the agreed BMS/EMS Engineering Standards
  • Drive high quality delivery, ensuring robust quality control is implemented, together with a culture of continuous improvement
  • Drive systematic approach to how BMS/EMS Engineering Standards will be implemented at Project Start Up & their effectiveness at Project Close Out, ensuring capture of all feedback & improvements
  • Ensure a high degree of collaboration & teamwork is established between all stakeholders, from Sales to Delivery teams, to maximise adoption of BMS/EMS Engineering Standards
    • Lead presentations and training sessions with customers, partners and internal stakeholders in benefits and use of Engineering Standards
    • Ensure the continuous improvement of both quality and ease of deployment relating to all aspects of Engineering Standards deliverables

About you:

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated & have a systems engineering background (BMS/EMS preferably), with relevant experience from the Data Centre market.

The role will require the development of knowledge in BMS engineering design & understanding of multiple different BMS software & hardware solutions & support will be provided as necessary to develop this knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Ideally qualified to degree level in relevant engineering discipline, however candidates with diploma level qualifications & demonstrable experience in a BMS/HVAC Design role are also be welcome
  • Minimum 10 Years BMS/EMS (or closely related systems) experience
