Reponsibilities:
The Data Center Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) must have Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure cooling technologies, including air conditioning, precision cooling, and water-based cooling systems (Chillers) and best practices.
The SME Cooling Data center Operations Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of cooling systems in the data center facilities and will work closely with cross functional teams to monitor cooling performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal environmental conditions for the critical IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, such as ASHRAE guidelines for data center environmental conditions.
- Proficiency in using monitoring tools and systems for Data center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Solid understanding of cooling systems and its interaction with electrical power distribution.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cooling related issues.
- Monitor and maintain the performance of data center cooling systems, including air conditioning units, chillers, pumps, and control systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of cooling infrastructure, ensuring equipment integrity, and identifying any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with facility management and engineering teams to develop and implement cooling strategies that optimize energy efficiency and minimize downtime and analysis related to Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Ensure adherence to data center cooling standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for cooling equipment, including scheduling maintenance activities, coordinating with vendors, and documenting maintenance records.
- Respond to cooling related alarms, troubleshoot system issues, and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain optimal environmental conditions.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and network operations, to address cooling requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cooling system configurations, equipment inventories, and operational procedures.
- Implement and maintain monitoring systems for real time data center environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, airflow, and power consumption.
- Assist in the implementation of capacity planning and expansion projects related to cooling infrastructure.
- Provide technical analytical framework for site performance analytics, failure analysis, and issue resolution.
- Demonstrate expert operating knowledge of critical system design, operations, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of abnormal conditions.
- Drive improvements in critical system performance, water and electrical usage efficiency, and critical infrastructure reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to data center operations.

Qualifications:
- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
- 15+ Years of experience in Data Center Operation and Maintenance management (In Mechanical).
- Experience in energy audit.
- Knowledge about ASHRAE Standard
- Experience in dealing with direct workforce.
- Project management.
- ITIL Fundamental knowledge.
