Connected Services Hub - Applications Engineer

Location - UK, Warrington

Your Responsibilities:

  • To provide 2nd line technical support to Internal and External Stakeholders of the Connected Services Hub, for systems and infrastructure within the CSH and via remote connectivity interfaces to Customers' infrastructure.
  • Ensure all possible remote fix solutions have been explored prior to the CSH raising a breakdown call for site visit.
  • Development and deployment of new integrated technologies to Service our customer base including new digital offers such as Hosted BMS and HVAC Optimization
  • Assume the position of Subject Matter Expert within the CSH for at least one of SE's core supported BMS and EPMS products.
  • Carry out site visits to support, commission and execute delivery of service and provisions associated with our connected offers portfolio.
  • Fulfilling the Technical Expert Role in supporting Development of CSH team members, with particular focus on SE's Core BMS & EMPS products, services and IT infrastructure.
  • Diagnosis, recovery, escalation and repair of systems and infrastructure within the CSH, following major systems and hardware failures. This includes rebuilding of PC's and Server and working with our IT department and services providers to troubleshoot network issues.
  • Assist in delivery of divisional support for key accounts.
  • Work closely with SE's Product Support Services (PSS) team to investigate escalated product and platform issues, identify and document root causes and prevent future occurrences of the issues.

About You:
  • A solid understanding of HVAC and building services applications
  • Solid understanding of electrical schemes and components
  • Knowledge of with industry standard communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP and Ethernet IP, BACnet.
  • Desired 2-5 years previous experience in a customer facing service or project role, technical support or a customer relationship environment.
  • Developing innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during the service contract period of connected customers.
  • Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, IT, Software, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or similar based qualification or foundation engineering course (ONC or City & Guilds etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively alone and in a group setting, collaborative, initiative-taking, and results driven.
