Location: U.S. remote


What will you do?

Provide pre-sales technical advice to Schneider Electric Sales teams and end users during the bid and quotation process. A Power Systems Applications Engineer is responsible for providing the technical response for large project bid requests, creating, and maintaining accurate technical documentation and drawings related to the project, collaborate with sales, project management and other engineering teams, and finally, create and provide recommendation of solutions that meet the requirements of the project.

  • Review in detail the projects technical specifications, facility single line drawings, and other related documentation to understand the requirements and scope of the project.
  • Create and provide technically accurate solutions that meet the customers requirements as outlined within project documentation.
  • Create and maintain technically accurate project drawings (electrical and control) as related to the project specific solution.
  • Provide support for Factory Witness testing as applicable (in person or virtual)
  • Perform technical calculations to meet requirements of UPS Applications and related switchboards/switchgear (to include but not limited to circuit breakers, battery solutions, transformers, etc)
  • Provide feedback to R&D on new product development.
  • Create and update project Scope of Work
  • Enter full project quotation into CPQ for financial review prior to release to end user.
  • Support Tender and Execution Project Managers throughout lifecycle of project
  • Support Post PO Project RFIs (Request for Information)
  • Create delivery submittals Post PO to include but not limited to, Product manuals, custom drawings, spec responses, cable schedules, BOMs, etc

What's in it for you?

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,640.00 - $120,960.00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience.
  • BS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Moderate level of technical knowledge within the application of UPS systems and associated switchboard/switchgear products
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of data center designs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in technical scope review
  • Highly Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge and experience in reviewing single line diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
