As Switchboard Advanced Product Owner, you will be responsible for our QED2 offer through the entire product lifecycle providing a clear roadmap for product maintenance and development.

In this job, on a day-to-day basis, you will analyze the business, investigate opportunities, and prioritize the investment of R&D resources and teams. Product Owners are the keystone representing the customer, business, technical, and application sides of their offers to the cross functional teams which are responsible for the successful development, launch, and life of products.

As Product Owner you are the champion for the product you represent, with ownership and responsibility over the pricing, placement, promotion, and evolution of the products to make them as successful as possible. You represent the customer and communicate the vision of the product within the Squad while also driving strategic alignment with key stakeholders.

Product Owners drive Agile Development Principles as a leader of projects, helping prioritize the development path and features, quantify the benefits and efforts, and make decisions to drive customer value. You partner with League Leaders to set priorities, drive the strategic intent of the product, and maximize the value of work done with the Squad. Product Owners create a conducive and collaborative environment through effective leadership.

What do you get to do in this position:

• Develop and adapt the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

• Drive and support our Sustainability Metrics and Efforts for improvements.

• Structure the product R&D process including setting up new squads, capturing business cases, and leading specific development projects.

• Define, scope, and prioritize features and activities based on business and customer impact. Own the product development backlog.

• Optimize the offer with clear scope of development for the cross functional teams. Capturing benefits, value propositions, and customer use cases to derive sales and financial benefits as well as cost of development.

• Review pricing and profitability to maximize returns and identify areas of improvement, use product and customer knowledge to pinpoint areas for cost optimization.

• Seek out the Voice of Sales, Customers, Services and other stakeholders to carry back to development teams working to identify beneficial offer changes.

• Monitor & analyze trends within the industry, competition, and governing bodies to feed and prioritize the roadmap.

• Develop business cases to summarize effort/costs vs proposed business and customer value for offer adaptations to drive prioritization and resource allocation.

• Work with finance and supply chain teams to properly forecast product to ensure proper material / labor supply.

• Promote the offer by developing and executing launch, announcement, and marketing plans in collaboration with our marketing and sales team.

• Be the subject matter expert and evangelize the offer, customer applications/needs, roadmap, and priorities to build awareness and secure support from squads and stakeholders.

• Communicate and interact with senior leaders in Schneider Electric, product sponsors, stakeholders, and customers to understand the current and changing needs.

• Manage roadmaps & lifecycle plans - develop new product and features, determine integrations and transitions, obsolescence, and withdrawal.

Education and Experience

• BS in engineering, mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred OR

• Candidates with BS in business, marketing, or finance degrees with strong technical backgrounds

• 5+ years prior technical experience in the power, controls, or electric distribution industry preferred

• 5+ years experience and knowledge in product management, product development, applications, sales, or technical marketing preferred

• Interest in technical, business, and marketing principles with a desire to advance studies in those fields (MBA, MS in Engineering Management)

• Experience with Contractors, End Users, Facility Engineers preferred

• Very strong in entrepreneurship spirit with proactive behavior

• Excellent business acumen to understand value generation and payback

• Leadership of cross-functional teams with ability to influence and convince executive members

• Strong in data analysis using excel and/or other data sources

• Clear communication and presentations skills internal and external, represent the customer view internally at all levels and present offer to customers in presentations and at Trade Shows

• Curiosity to create something new, innovate, and develop

• Problem solving, collaborative and negotiating skills that accomplish best, justifiable outcomes

• Manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously

• Ability to understand technical concepts and applications around power distribution, codes & standards, and electrical systems

• Understand marketing principles - product positioning, pricing strategies, channel management, value propositions and competitive comparisons, market trends

• Understand business principles - profitability, margin, cost analysis

• Ability to create concise product offer specifications, sales tools & business cases

• Agile mindset for accomplishing objectives while managing resources within a budget

• Ability to travel up to 15% of time within North America.
