USA Job Function Description: Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company. Manages policy, standard definition and monitoring of policy, standard implementation, ensuring harmonization and consistency of risk policies. Monitors and manages risk/exposure and compliance with the company's policies. Identifies, manages and reports on the company's risk areas. Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of data, document retention, and monitors systems.
Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:
- Assessment of clients operating in sectors covered by the Environmental, Social and Climate Change (ESCC) risk policy and other sensitive sectors, in coordination with bankers, Credit Risk, and the Global ESCC Risk team.
- Assessment of eligible sustainable finance transactions from an ESCC risk perspective
- Perform ESCC due diligence on SCIB clients and transactions
- Participation in credit risk approval meetings/forum and ESG panels
- Partnering with 1LoD units to elaborate ESCC qualitative assessment
- Develop and maintain local processes and procedures to assess, manage and oversee ESCC Risks.
- Report ESCC risk metrics to local committees and to the Global ESCC Risk team.
- Support the Global ESCC Risk team on the Due Diligence process for transactions under the scope of Equator Principles IV.
- Oversee and challenge the 1LoD on ESCC matters.
- Support training efforts on ESG matters
- Participation in internal projects to develop the function.

Education:
- Bachelor/MSc in Environmental Science; Geology; Biology; Agricultural, Chemical or Industrial Engineering. Business Administration or other ESG-linked educational backgrounds will be also considered.
Work Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in an environmental and social risk or ESG-related position, or in a credit risk or compliance position with experience on dealing with sensitive sectors and transactions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Professional understanding of environmental, social and climate change factors and their associated risks
- Analytical skills
- Communication skills
- Proactivity
- Bilingual English and Spanish a plus but not required.
- International working/academic experiences will be also positively valued.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
