As a member of the Vaccines Medical Team and contributor to the medical evidence generation community, theMedical Evidence Generation Lead (MEGL)builds on training and experience in health sciences and epidemiology research, public health, and regulations to ensure that relevant medical evidence is available and strategically used to support the development, launch and commercialization of vaccines throughout the entire product lifecycle, in the designated scope (Germany and Austria).

Main responsibilities:

In their scope is the generation of medical evidence that is aligned with business priorities and increases the medical value for our vaccines in Germany and Austria.This includesthe development and execution of the country-specific iEGPs (integrated Evidence Generation Plans),with a focus on preparing launches, supporting market access and expansion, and demonstrating the continued value of our licensed vaccines, in alignment with local Medical Plans and global MEG strategies.

Key will be the timely publication of relevant study results through conference presentations/posters and scientific peer-reviewed publications, as well as participation in external scientific engagements.

  • Collaborate with local Medical and EbM/HEOR teamsto identify evidence gaps and support development and business strategies.
  • Serve as the local expertfor Global Medical Franchise MEG teams, ensuring excellence in evidence generation, especially for pre-launch and launch vaccines.
  • Promote collaboration and dialoguewith external health care practitioners, organizations, and research partners to integrate insights into strategy and operational plans.
  • Initiate and supervise epidemiological and clinical studiesin compliance with regulations, ensuring high-quality methodology and effective dissemination of results.
  • Monitor epidemiology of infectious diseasesand develop digital solutions to improve data usability, representing global MEG in country medical leadership for seamless communication and alignment.

About you

Education:
  • Advanced university degree in life sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science or equivalent discipline.
  • Previous experience with vaccines or infectious diseases is advantageous.

Experience:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the field of clinical epidemiology/public health, real-world evidence, pharmaco-epidemiology, or health outcomes research, with experience in developing prospective epidemiological studies.
  • Proven experience in strategic evidence generation and the ability to critically evaluate data, methods, and study designs, and to link these aspects with the evolving product strategy.

Soft skills and technical knowledge:
  • Strategic thinking & demonstrated experience in strategic evidence generation
  • Analysis of data needs and/or data sources for a disease area or vaccine
  • Significant peer-reviewed publication track record in epidemiology, clinical and statistical and/or HEOR journals required
  • Demonstrated network collaboration experience, including with complex global matrix teams, ability to cooperate cross-functionally
  • Scientific excellence, strong motivation for public health
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Language:
  • Fluent in English and German
