Our Team:

The Center of Excellence for global tissue imaging mass spectrometry (tMSI) within metabolism section the global DMPK-platform focuses the distribution of new chemical entities and new biological entities in organ tissue, combined with the identification of untargeted biomarker for efficacy, supporting drug target engagement evaluations, and early safety markers.

Our devotion to "chase the miracles of science" combines state of the art ultra-high-resolution Mass Spectrometry to the continual development of new MALDI- and LC-MS techniques.

Main responsibilities:

As an experienced Imaging Mass Spectrometry Scientist your main responsibilities are:

  • Contribute to the continual development of innovative MALDI-MS techniques for new chemical entities and new biological entities, and for drug- and endogenous metabolites.
  • Design, conduct, interpret MS experiments to better understand the mechanisms of biotherapeutics, drug/-metabolite and biomarker tissue disposition.
  • Identify and validate new biomarkers for pharmacological and toxicological evaluation by state-of-the-art LC-MS technologies.
  • Scout and implement new equipment, software application and preparative techniques for the analysis of biotherapeutics and endogenous targets on tissue by MALDI-MS.
  • Implement the tMSI-AI approach to speed-up data driven decisions.
  • Driving internal innovation through building internal and external collaboration (academic and industrial), increase tMSI-Sanofi visibility internally and externally (conferences and publications) and mentoring thesis projects (e.g. master degree, PhD).

About you

Experience:
  • Strong experience in MS technique, ultra-high resolution MS instrumentation, diverse fragmentation (CID/ETD), manual MS spectra interpretation, and chromatography separation techniques (nano flow-LC).
  • Profound understanding of the MALDI-MS technique with a proof scientific track-record as senior author (Last Autor)
  • Good expertise in biochemistry, "omics" science (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, etc.) with good knowledge of protein biochemistry, protein characterization (Top-Down, Middle-Down, Bottom-up).
Soft and technical skills:
  • Preferably good expertise and good understanding of data processing and AI solutions for MALDI-MSI data analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills strong presentation skills and contribute to scientific publications.
  • Work effectively in within a multi-disciplinary team including other members of tMSI team, DMPK, pharmacology, toxicology, histopathology, and chemistry.
  • Expertise in histology/pathology of rodents is beneficial.
Education:
University degree (PhD) or a master degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, preferably with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience in MALDI-MS.

Languages: German/English: fluent in speaking, reading, writing
