Context

The creation of a standalone Global Business Unit, Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare ("CHC") has now grown into a leading consumer healthcare platform with a presence in 150 countries and over 11,000 employees, dedicated resources in R&D, manufacturing, information technology as well as its distinct sustainability roadmap.

Sanofi recently announced its intention to separate the CHC Business as it increases its focus on innovative medicines and vaccines. The intended separation will seek to create two entities, each better equipped to pursue its own business strategy, resourcing and capital allocation and enabling each to focus on long-term growth in its respective markets. Sanofi believes that the separation will unlock further opportunities for CHC to leverage its portfolio of leading brands and continue to drive growth and shareholder value.

Subject to market conditions, the separation could be achieved at the earliest in Q4 2024.

In that context, Sanofi is looking for a CHC Treasury Operations, Market Compliance & Control Analyst (Back Office Analyst) for its CHC Global Treasury. He/she will report to the CHC Head of Global Treasury Operations.

Our Team:

CHC Global Treasury is mainly responsible for the financing, cash and risk management as well as insurance of CHC affiliates.

CHC Global Treasury Operations (CHC GTO) is part of CHC GT and oversees the following activities:
  • Liquidity Management
  • Market Compliance and Control and Operational Excellence
  • Subsidiary Financing
  • Working Capital Optimization
  • Credit Risk Management

We ensure affiliates' liquidity and financing and ensure optimal capital structures.

We ensure effective cash management structures are implemented and optimize the centralization of the Cash of CHC entities at the level of CHC Holding and manage the CHC In-House Bank.

We support the Regional Treasury Centers teams, always work in close collaboration with our internal stakeholders and supervise the relationships with Sanofi core banks.

We support Cashflow reporting and lead initiatives to optimize working capital of the Company.

We ensure compliance of the Market Operations managed by Treasury Front Office/Capital Market department on all asset classes and ensure Operational Excellence of Treasury Operations.

We support the Treasury aspects of company transformational projects and strategic initiatives.

Your main responsibilities

The CHC Treasury Operations Market Compliance & Control Analyst (Back Office Analyst) belongs to the CHC GTO team and is responsible for transactional activities including but not limited to:
  • Daily control of the exhaustiveness, accuracy and conformity of the Treasury transactions initiated by Capital Markets/Front Office team (MMF, short term deposits, certificates of deposit, repo's, bonds, Euro & US commercial papers, FX spots, forwards, swaps on about 40 currencies, interest, and cross currency swaps, NDF's, potentially options, ...) as well as of the treasury transactions with Internal Counterparts by ensuring:
    • Reciprocity with counterparts (in line with different contracts ISDA, authorizations, ...).
    • Internal validations and adherence to SOX control framework, Sanofi policies and guidelines
  • Daily management and monitoring of financial instruments related settlements according to banks standing settlement instructions and cut-off times as well as monthly closing timelines
  • Effective follow-up of litigations with banking partners
  • Daily reporting and control of the counterparty / financial instruments exposures and monitoring of such exposures vs. defined limits
  • KPI reporting/Dashboards over performance of Back Office activities.
  • Set-up and maintenance of treasury counterparts within treasury management system; including set-up of standing settlements instructions to ensure correct recording and settlement of financial transactions
  • Development and maintenance of treasury policies, processes, procedures, systems, and control environment in line with best practice

In addition, the Market Compliance & Control Analyst will contribute to the following activities:
  • Back Office internal / external audit processes
  • Back Office business continuity plan elaboration and rehearsals
  • Ongoing monitoring (with the support of Sanofi Legal team) & implementation of regulations on financial instruments changes impacting Back Office activities and especially concerning confirmation, lifecycle & reporting.

He/she is also expected to act as Key User and especially:
  • Identify and escalate pain points that may be subject to process improvement and share best practices
  • Identify gaps vs. existing practices, regulatory constraints, and local process dependencies
  • Ensure continued focus on process improvement, increased automation of activities and the elimination of non-value-added activities
  • Support process exception arbitration when needed and propose process workaround
  • Review process design when applicable
  • Update internal control framework
  • Support and Sign-off on new process testing's (UAT)
  • Participate to the change management plan
  • Contribute to Systems upgrades as required

About you

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree - preferably Master's degree - in business administration, finance, accounting or economics
    • Comprehensive knowledge of treasury, debt capital markets, financial instruments, and structures

  • Experience
    • Treasury knowledge, based on at least 2 years of relevant Treasury / In-House Bank / Cash Management experience within Bank / Corporate Treasury; Treasury accounting
    • Experience in an international working environment
    • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley if possible
    • Experience with Treasury Management Systems

  • Skills
    • Analytical skills, financial acumen, accuracy and attention to details
    • Team player, proactive and solution oriented
    • Ability to work under time pressure
    • Strong capabilities in MS Excel
    • Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems, S/4HANA Treasury System knowledge is a plus
    • Treasury accounting knowledge (IFRS)
  • Languages: fluent written and spoken English
