Samsung is looking for an experienced Sr. Manager of Retail Marketing and VM Strategy to lead the creative team to achieve the best possible outcomes for our projects both visually and functionally to meet customer expectations and drive sustainable growth of the Samsung brand.

The Sr. Manager of Retail Marketing and VM Strategy will devise concepts and strategies for particular ventures, will monitor progress by implementing the creative vision, and will be the point of reference for creative any plan making its way to customers.

The Sr. Manager of Retail Marketing and VM Strategy has great organizational skills to keep projects running smoothly, while also having a strong understanding of design principles and branding. The Sr. Manager will ensure cross functional teams are apprised and aligned on the vision for showcasing Samsung products at retail; while striving to achieve optimal presence across all channels.

This position will report to the Retail CX Director of VM Design/Strategy to ensure all SEA retail environments align with the brands vision/direction and drive continuity across all facets of the SEA retail landscape.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Build the knowledge of Samsung's standard and requirement details to drive consistency between design, development & construction
  • Conceive and implement concepts, guidelines and strategies in various creative projects and oversee them to completion
  • Collaborate with channel managers to obtain knowledge of the clients' requirements
  • Direct and guide teams of art directors, industrial designers, visual merchandisers, project managers etc. to help them use their talents effectively
  • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas while leveraging insights/data from other verticals
  • Revise content and presentations, approve/reject ideas, provide feedback to the team
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders from various SEA functional areas, including Global HQ, Account Teams, Retail Execution, Marketing and SEA Sr. Leadership to determine specific requirements for executing development and build projects and drive the related GTM strategy across all Channels
  • Ensure all account team requests align with Global HQ and SEA strategies currently in motion
  • Conduct industry research with consumer insights teams around consumer shopping behavior. Inform and influence projects as needed
  • Manage Retail Design Playbook. Update as needed to support customer sell in
  • Effectively oversee multiple project initiatives simultaneously enforcing SEA brand standard compliance across all SEA retail environments

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • 10-12 years of related experience required (BA/BS or equivalent degree in Visual Communications, Marketing, or Industrial Design and 8+ years of related experience is preferred)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development
  • Excellent working knowledge of software such as Excel, Power Point, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Customer service aptitude and willingness to work as part of a team with leadership abilities
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills to solicit feedback and approvals

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.

Physical/Mental Demands:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position.
