Job Summary
As a Solutions Engineer at Spiff, you will be the technical expert supporting our sales and customer success teams. You will engage with prospective and current customers to understand their unique sales compensation challenges and demonstrate how Spiff can effectively address their needs. This role is a perfect fit for individuals who excel at translating complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand solutions while fostering strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide tailored product demonstrations.
- Design and present customized solutions that align with client needs and technical environments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by explaining technical aspects, integrations, and best practices related to Spiff.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer needs and influence roadmap decisions.
- Assist in proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to validate Spiff's value proposition.
- Support the customer success team in onboarding and configuring solutions for new clients.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and resources to streamline the sales and implementation process.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in sales compensation and commission automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or related technical customer-facing role.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, APIs, and software integrations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt solutions to customer needs.
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales compensation processes is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, customer success, and product teams.
- Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sales commission structures, incentive plans, and finance operations.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data analysis and automation.
- Previous experience working in a fast-growing SaaS or technology startup.
