About The Position:

Principal Technical Architect is a strategic customer-facing role within the Solutions Engineering organization. With a blend of business, technical, and sales skills, the Technical Architect acts as a domain expert who uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements. Technical Architects help our customers achieve an omnichannel customer experience by applying their deep industry knowledge, understanding of data systems and integrations, and experience designing enterprise marketing solutions. Technical Architects help the sales teams develop and refine a customer-centric technical sales strategy and Salesforce-solution fit. Key traits for success include curiosity, communication, and a capacity for learning.

Department Description:

The Solution Experts team is an innovative group of architects and specialists who assist customers and prospects by developing and implementing digital marketing strategies. They collaborate with customers, Products teams, Professional Services, and Partners to craft unique solutions. The team thrives in a constantly evolving environment, applying design, business consulting, and technology to drive innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to our customers, prospects, and the broader Marketing Solutions Engineering (SE) team.
  • Present Salesforce technology infrastructure, demonstrating platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security and integration.
  • Understand customer's needs and position Salesforce products as the best solution.
  • Conduct architecture and technical workshops, including enablement sessions
  • Develop technical integration approaches, including data flow and architectural diagrams.
  • Build customized presentations, demonstrations, and prototypes to showcase business value.
  • Lead targeted workshops to drive technical approaches and standard processes.
  • Assist Solutions Engineers in transferring knowledge to ensure successful use of the solution.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing enablement, content, repeatable solutions, and tools for the Solutions Engineering organization.
  • Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of consulting or solution design experience in working with customers.
  • Good understanding of the cloud-based platform architecture, including SaaS, PaaS, and multi-tiered infrastructure.
  • Experience with Salesforce CDP or equivalent Customer Data Platform/Management solutions (Custom CDP Solutions, SaaS CDP Solutions such as Tealium AudienceStream, Adobe AEP, Segment, Arm Treasure Data, BlueShift, SessionM, RedPoint etc.).
  • Knowledge of enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, EAI, ETL, BPM, CEP, MDM, BI/BA, Data & AI.
  • Familiarity with network, application, and information security principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong sense of curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Expertise in building data pipelines.
  • Experience pitching to senior business and technical leaders.
  • Skilled in facilitating customer-focused workshops.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software sales processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Awareness of Data Governance and Privacy regulations.
