Kio Ora!

We're looking for a dynamic, outcomes-driven Account Executive to join our MuleSoft team and drive sales revenue by building lasting relationships within Public Sector and Education, across Wellington.

Your focus will be on MuleSoft's industry-leading integration platform, Public Sector and Education to innovate through streamlined, API-led connectivity solutions. This is a quota-carrying role where you will act as the "CEO" of your territory, owning all aspects of the go-to-market strategy, and leading the sales cycle with a cross-functional team.

Your Impact:

This is not your typical software sales role. As a MuleSoft Account Executive, you'll influence how government and educational institutions achieve digital transformation, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs and exceed revenue targets. You will drive MuleSoft adoption by developing effective account and territory plans for the education sector, representing the Salesforce team as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Own and manage the sales cycle from lead qualification to negotiation and closing. Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans targeting the higher education sector in Wellington, addressing unique challenges and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Engagement: Build long-term partnerships with government and educational institutions, positioning MuleSoft's platform to meet their integration and connectivity needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead and coordinate a cross-functional team, including Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Marketing, and Customer Success professionals, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Solution Selling: Understand customer challenges and present ROI-focused, innovative MuleSoft solutions that drive value and address the specific needs of education and government clients.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding sector-specific constraints, regulatory policies, and procurement cycles.
  • CRM Management: Accurately document account strategies and sales progress in Salesforce's CRM, ensuring informed, data-driven decision-making across the team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and sales partners across the wider Salesforce team, ensuring alignment and a seamless experience for customers.
  • Proven experience in consultative and solution-based selling, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, planning, and closing skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand's government and education sectors is highly desirable.
  • Ability to articulate ROI and value propositions and serve as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passion for customer success, a competitive spirit, and a commitment to Salesforce's values of trust, equality, and collaboration

Why Join Us?

At Salesforce, we don't just believe in selling software-we're dedicated to making the world a better place through innovation and responsible business practices. As part of our team, you'll enjoy:

  • Opportunities to work on impactful, career-defining projects with leading organisations in the New Zealand public sector.
  • Competitive benefits, including health, life, and income insurance, wellness allowances, IVF and adoption support, flexible leave policies, and paid volunteer days.
  • Access to top-tier sales training, collaborative planning, and team-building activities.
  • A commitment to giving back, through our Pledge 1% model and community volunteering opportunities.

If you're an entrepreneurial sales professional with a passion for transformation and innovation, and you're ready to shape the future of government and education, we'd love to have you on our team.
