The Technology Program Management team drives programs that deliver innovative, enterprise cloud solutions for our customers. We are the Grease, Glue & Coach that create delighted users, thriving teams and innovation everywhere!

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive cross-organizational programs to achieve critical Availability Initiatives, initially focusing on Service Ownership and Critical User Journey (CUJ) adoption. This role is pivotal to ensuring that complex, cross-functional programs achieve successful delivery and organizational impact. As the TPM, you will work directly with senior leadership and multiple partner teams across Salesforce, managing program execution within our organization while partnering with stakeholders in adjacent engineering organizations. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled TPM to lead impactful programs for the Salesforce Availability team, delivering on strategic initiatives that enhance resilience and service reliability for Salesforce products. This is an individual contributor role.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross- Organization Program Leadership:

  • Drive end-to-end program management of major Availability programs, with an initial focus on Service Ownership and Critical

User Journey adoption.

  • Execute programs across multiple clouds and functions, coordinating with partner organizations to align on key priorities, roadmaps, and resource planning.

Independent Ownership & Initiative:

  • Act as an independent driver, owning key programs and taking initiative to resolve roadblocks and align functional areas, with support from other TPMs where needed for subject matter expertise.
  • Anticipate issues and proactively 'see around corners,' identifying potential risks and proposing solutions before they impact timelines or deliverables.

Strategic Planning & Forward Vision:

  • Lead the vision and roadmap for programs 6-9 months out, spanning 2-3 release cycles.
  • Continually adjust and improve operating models as team priorities and requirements evolve, ensuring alignment with Salesforce's Availability and reliability goals.

Program Complexity & Ambiguity Management:

  • Work comfortably in complex, ambiguous environments, managing programs with dependencies across multiple clouds.
  • Drive existing programs effectively while developing new programs when needed, defining success metrics and establishing alignment across teams and senior stakeholders (up to the SVP level).

Relationship Management & Influence:

  • Build and maintain influential relationships with stakeholders, peer TPMs, executive leaders, and program core team members to drive successful outcomes.
  • Align and coordinate key leaders across organizations, addressing immediate and systemic alignment challenges, and advocating for program priorities to influence release planning commitments

Operational Excellence & Meeting Leadership:

  • Lead essential meetings (scrum, PCT, workstream reviews) not only by managing logistics but also by driving decision-making, identifying gaps, and promoting alignment across teams.
  • Regularly manage the roster for Availability, drive headcount planning, and monitor operational capacity across workstreams to optimize resource allocation.

Effective Communication & Executive Engagement:

  • Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior executives, with a focus on transparency and actionable insights.
  • Build a robust communication model that facilitates decision-making, encourages open dialogue, and ensures all team members are aligned with program goals.

Domain Expertise:

  • Build deep product knowledge, including completion of relevant Trailhead Training Courses, to independently make program-related decisions.
  • Understand the technical and business impact of availability initiatives from both an end-user and Admin perspective, allowing for informed decision-making in partnership with program stakeholders.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Experience as a Program Manager is mandatory.
  • 10+ years experience managing large highly complex programs/projects utilizing Agile/Scrum,Kanban and other program management project execution methods.
  • Expert in establishing scope, creating plans/schedules and managing execution of programs.
  • Expertise in creating structured operating models for programs and experience adapting frameworks to align with business needs.
  • Experience framing, establishing and implementing large-scale (enterprise-level) change initiatives
  • Experience in data analytics in rudimentary systems (extracting data from disparate systems merging data sets, etc.) not afraid to get your hands dirty in Excel / gSheets.
  • Experience in creating, and communicating in writing and verbally, status of programs to an executive level.
  • Proven ability to influence and build alignment across senior leadership, with strong skills in relationship management, communication, and presentation.
  • Strong technical knowledge, including proficiency with product and cloud concepts and a commitment to ongoing learning. • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and proactively drive issues to closure
  • Able to work well in a matrix management, cross-functional, geographically distributed environment.
  • A service oriented minded person who "Thinks Customer"
  • Ability to be flexible with a positive attitude and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and tasks.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferred Masters in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to quickly learn Salesforce application to build tools and reports or strong interest in technology and ability to develop application/tool to automate processes
  • Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or availability-driven initiatives within complex technology environments.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $183,600 to $266,300.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,300 to $290,500.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
